Thu Apr 2 201521:22Adams will not report to Triple-A Oklahoma City
Adams will not report to Triple-A Oklahoma City, Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports.
The Dodgers informed Adams on Thursday that he would not make the Opening Day roster, and it sounds like instead of reporting to Triple-A, the 36-year-old right-hander may just call it a career. Over the course of 10 major league seasons, Adams has posted a 2.41 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 3.25 K/BB. He had a 2.89 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 22 appearances with the Phillies last season.
Tue Mar 31 201513:00Adams will begin season with Triple-A Oklahoma City
Adams will begin his season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
A non-roster invitee to spring training, Adams will hope to work his way up to the big-league bullpen. Even if he eventually gets there, he'll likely be limited to working as a middle reliever.
Tue Mar 17 201511:36Adams says body continues to respond well to throwing
Adams says his body continues to respond well to throwing, and he is slated to pitch in Wednesday's game, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.
Adams has been held under 30 innings in each of the last two seasons due to injuries, and is hoping to make the Dodgers' bullpen out of camp as a non-roster invitee. With several Dodgers relievers ailing, he has a shot, but would likely only be featured in medium-to-low leverage situations.
Sun Mar 1 201511:22Adams has signed minor-league deal with Dodgers
Adams has signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Adams is almost certain to break camp with the Dodgers if he proves he's healthy, given his track record (career 2.41 ERA, 1.085 WHIP, and 9.0 K/9). The 36-year-old's 2015 option wasn't picked up by the Phillies due to shoulder injuries riddling his time in Philly, but he's a top relief option if he can put together 50+ innings in a season again.
Thu Oct 30 201413:07The Phillies declined Adams' 2015 club option Thursday
The Phillies declined Adams' 2015 club option Thursday, Jim Salisbury of CSN reports.
The move is essentially a formality after two disappointing, injury-riddled seasons in Philadelphia. Adams, who missed much of the 2014 season with a labrum issue, appeared in only 22 games, tallying a 2.89 ERA across 18.2 innings. Last season, he was limited to 28 appearances, in which he went 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA and 1.360 WHIP.

Adams (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day DL.
Fraying in the labrum of Adams' surgically-repaired right shoulder forced the 36-year-old out of action in early June, but he's been cleared to return following a trio of successful rehab appearances with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Adams has put up impressive numbers throughout his 10-year major league career (2.37 ERA, 9.1 K/9), but given his recent shoulder troubles, it's no guarantee the Phillies will pick up his $6 million price tag for 2015.

Adams (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Considering that Adams has been out all summer, it's likely that the Phillies will take it slow with his rehab process, and he could return in early-to-mid September to a mid-inning role in the big-league bullpen. Ken Giles, however, has staked a firm claim to the eighth inning and is the Phillies' closer in waiting.

Adams is going to get a cortisone injection later this week to help with the discomfort that he's feeling. There's no structural damage in his rotator cuff, so the Phillies are staying optimistic. It doesn't appear that he has structural damage, but more will be known after Monday's exam. Adams had been pitching well, posting a 2.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings. "That's probably the most frustrating part," Adams said. "I felt like pitching-wise, I had gotten back to where I was in the past."
