Fri Aug 14 201514:39Prince Amukamara: (Groin) Out For Friday's Preseason Game
Amukamara (groin) will not play in Friday's first preseason game against the Bengals, ESPN reports.
Amukamara has been dealing with a groin injury for the past week or so, leaving the Giants with little reason to throw him into their opening exhibition contest. However, since Amukamara didn't initially expect the ailment to linger, he could be ready to return to action as early as next week.

Amukamara is dealing with a groin injury but does not expect to miss significant time, Dan Graziano of ESPN reports. "I should be okay in about a week," Amukamara said.
The good news for the Giants is that Amukamara appears to have moved past the more serious biceps injury that put him out for the year in November. He'll likely sit out a week or so with the groin ailment but it doesn't figure to linger into the regular season.
Tue Jun 23 201515:07Amukamara appears past torn biceps that ended 2014 season
Amukamara appears past the torn biceps that ended his 2014 season, the Giants' official site reports.
Per the report, Amukamara has displayed no lingering effects from the torn biceps that cost him the second half of the 2014 campaign. Assuming no injury setbacks, Amukamara -- who recorded 46 tackles and three interceptions in eight 2014 games -- is in line to start at right cornerback for the Giants this coming season.
Wed Nov 5 201402:05Amukamara (biceps) will miss rest of year
Amukamara (biceps) will miss the rest of the year, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
A tough blow to Amukamara and the Giants as he was having a Pro Bowl-level season, and the Giants are paper thin in the secondary now with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie playing through injuries and Walter Thurmond already out for the season.
Mon Nov 3 201423:34Prince Amukamara: Diagnosed With Torn Biceps
Amukamara has been diagnosed with a torn biceps, after leaving Monday's game against the Colts in the first half.
A torn biceps is often a season-ending injury, even when suffered earlier in the year. With just eight weeks remaining, the Giants will likely place Amukamara on injured reserve, leaving Zack Bowman as the probable starter across from a banged-up Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (hamstring/back). A once-deep cornerback group has now lost three players to severe injuries, which leaves Jayron Hosley as the likely nickelback, with Chandler Fenner also a candidate to get snaps in the slot. Bowman, who has started just 25-of-81 career games, is the preferred IDP option of the bunch. He'll likely be tested quite often by opposing quarterbacks, and he flashed strong ball skills during his six-year tenure with the Bears from 2008 to 2013.
Mon Nov 3 201421:37Prince Amukamara: Exits With Biceps Injury
Amukamara left Monday's game with a biceps injury and will not return, Mike Sando of ESPN.com reports.
The Giants have already been hit by quite a few injuries at cornerback this season, with Walter Thurmond (chest) and Trumaine McBride (thumb) notably on injured reserve, while Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (back/hamstring) returned in a limited role for Monday's game. Amukamara's absence will likely lead to added playing time for Jayron Hosley and Zack Bowman, with Chandler Fenner also a candidate to get some snaps. Amukamara's injury history is rather lengthy, but the past issues mostly related to his lower body.

Amukamara (groin), who was previously expected to undergo an MRI on Monday, will not need such testing now that he's feeling better, NJ.com reports.
Amukamara pulled out of Saturday's preseason game after tweaking his groin, but said afterward he could still jog and cut without problem. The cornerback just couldn't run full-speed, which is why he sat out the remainder of Saturday's exhibition contest. With the Amukamara's groin now feeling improved, the Giants' No. 1 cornerback will likely be eased back into practice this week, but it appears he avoided a more concerning setback.
Sun Aug 17 201416:48Amukamara (groin) will undergo MRI
Amukamara (groin) will undergo an MRI, according to Giants' coach Tom Coughlin, the New York Daily News reports.
Amukamara left Saturday's preseason game with a groin strain, but told reporters afterward that he didn't feel a pop and was able to both jog and cut while on the sidelines. That being said, Amukamara also revealed that he doubted his ability to go full-speed, so that's why he never returned to Saturday's game. For further clarification on Amukamara's ailment, he'll have an MRI performed on his sore groin. While coach Coughlin is reportedly concerned about his No. 1 cornerback's status, the MRI results should be most telling.
Sat Aug 16 201420:38Prince Amukamara: Exits With Groin Strain
Amukamara exited Saturday's preseason game with a groin strain, ESPN.com reports.
Amukamara was ruled out for the game, leaving Walter Thurmond to play across from Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the base defense.
Tue May 13 201418:58Amukamara, G-Men yet to have long-term talks
Prince Amukamara has yet to have long-term talks with the Giants.
Amukamara has emerged as an above-average player, but there should be little rush for the G-Men. Amukamara had trouble staying healthy before 2013, and is under team control for a modest total of $7.93 million over the next two seasons. Amukamara will be positioned for a big payday if he repeats his 2013 this season.

Thu May 1 201411:59Giants exercise option on Prince Amukamara
Giants exercised CB Prince Amukamara's fifth-year club option for 2015.
The 2015 option is for a non-guaranteed $7 million and doesn't prevent the Giants from negotiating a long-term deal. Therefore, it was a relatively easy decision considering Amukamara's status as an above-average, every-down corner just entering his age-25 season. He'll pair with free agent pickup Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to give the Giants a strong duo for the next two seasons.

Sat Apr 19 201415:08Giants undecided on Amukamara's 2015 option
The Giants haven't decided whether to exercise CB Prince Amukamara's fifth-year option for 2015.
Amukamara would cost roughly $7.93 million over the next two seasons. While he hasn't established himself as a must-keep player, there's little downside in the Giants picking up the option and keeping open discussions about a long-term deal. Amukamara had 85 tackles and two forced fumbles last year in his first full season as a starter, but has only three career interceptions.

Fri Dec 20 201309:10Amukamara not expected to shadow Megatron
Giants RCB Prince Amukamara is not expected to shadow Calvin Johnson on Sunday.
Amukamara has been the Giants' top corner this season with Corey Webster missing most of the year. However, the Giants play sides. Trumaine McBride handles the left side, while Terrell Thomas mans the slot. Megatron will get some work against all three. In a must-win situation, Johnson could have a huge game.
