Fri May 18 201219:34Giants haven't made offer to Melvin Mora
Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com reports that the Giants didn't make an offer to Melvin Mora.
This conflicts with a Venezuelan newspaper report that claimed Mora was in negotiations with the Giants and expected to travel to the U.S. this weekend. According to Baggarly, the Giants had a ''one text conversation'' with Mora's agent, but there is ''absolutely no offer made.'' Mora turned a minor league contract from the Rangers this offseason, and is reportedly considering an offer from the Reds.

Thu May 17 201222:49Mora drawing interest from Giants & Reds?
Melvin Mora told Venezuelan newspaper LĄder en Deportes that he will fly to the United States this weekend to begin negotiations with the Giants and Reds.
The story was passed along by MLB Trade Rumors. Mora said his agent received offers from both teams last week, but he didn't yet know the terms. The 40-year-old reportedly turned down a minor league offer from the Rangers in February because he preferred to sign with a team on the East Coast. He batted just .228/.244/.276 in 135 plate appearances last season for the Diamondbacks.

Veteran infielder Melvin Mora turned down a minor league contract offer from the Rangers.
Mora is hoping instead to sign with a team on the East Coast, near his home in Baltimore. The 40-year-old free agent batted just .228/.244/.276 in 135 plate appearances last season for the D'Backs and has struggled to attract interest from the kind of clubs he would like to sign with. Texas was at least offering a paycheck.

Melvin Mora's agent said Wednesday that his client has not retired, and wants to play in 2012.
Reports out of Venezuela back in December claimed that Mora had decided to hang up his cleats for good, but those were apparently premature. The 39-year-old infielder is seeking an invitation to spring training, probably on a minor league deal. He hit .228/.244/.276 in 135 plate appearances last season for the D'Backs.

Wed Jun 29 201119:43Melvin Mora released
Diamondbacks released 3B Melvin Mora.
With Ryan Roberts' emergence, Mora's playing time has been spotty, and he hasn't hit all year, sporting a .230/.246/.278 batting line with no home runs. It's entirely possible that we might have seen the last of the 39-year-old.

Melvin Mora was held out of the lineup for the second straight game Wednesday because hie left foot was still noticeably swollen.
The good news is that an X-ray was negative and Mora was feeling much better. "I never play 100 percent," Mora said. "Nobody in this game plays 100 percent. I'll be fine tomorrow, maybe the next day. It's not DL stuff." The D'Backs likely aren't too upset about Mora's absence, as Ryan Roberts is swinging a hot bat.

Melvin Mora went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Arizona's loss to the Cardinals on Monday.
The RBI was his third of the season. Hitting just .238 through his first 21 at-bats, it might not be too early to say Mora misses the thin air of Colorado. His fantasy owners surely do.
