Rosario went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in a loss to Arizona on Thursday.
Rosario has really fallen out of favor in Denver, but he's always been able to hit. He got the start today because he is batting well over .300 against lefties with an OPS just shy of 1.000 over his last three seasons. If he can find a DH role in the AL next year or an everyday catching job for a team who wants to take a risk, he'd become instantly fantasy relevant.

Rosario hit a solo homer as part of a 2-for-3 effort in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates.
Rosario was filling in at first base for Justin Morneau, who took a seat with lefty J.A. Happ on the mound for the Pirates. Look for the Rockies to continue to deploy a platoon at first base the rest of the season, though Rosario stands to see the shorter end of the timeshare.

Rosario singled twice and drove in two runs during Thursday's 11-3 win over the Giants.
Rosario surprisingly picked up the start at first base with a right-hander in Ryan Vogelsong on the mound, but he acquitted himself well while manning the eighth spot in the batting order. The Rockies' decision to move Rosario to first base has largely been a failed experiment, as the former catcher has been rough defensively while seeing his power decline to career-low levels. Playing time may only grow scarcer for Rosario with Justin Morneau (concussion/neck) poised to return soon, and it wouldn't be surprising if the Rockies elected to cut ties with him entirely during the offseason.
Tue Sep 1 201513:29Rosario recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday
Rosario was recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday.
Rosario saw very limited action after the All-Star break, and he was optioned back to Triple-A at the end of July. The 26-year-old has fared well in Albuquerque, hitting .297 in 38 games, but he won't have a clear path to consistent playing time at the big league level.
Tue Sep 1 201511:29Wilin Rosario: Called Up Tuesday
Colorado Rockies first baseman Wilin Rosario was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.
Colorado Rockies first baseman Wilin Rosario was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Rosario is in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks and could platoon with first baseman Ben Paulsen for the remainder of the season.
Tue Jul 28 201517:48Rosario optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday
Rosario was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
The 26-year-old saw limited opportunities coming out of the All-Star break -- he made just two starts and totaled 13 at-bats -- and will now head down to make room for Cristhian Adames on the roster. It would appear Daniel Descalso is in line to serve as the primary backup to Ben Paulsen at first base for the time being.

Rosario hasn't started any of the Rockies' first four games out of the All-Star break.
The Rockies have faced right-handed starting pitching in each of those contests, prompting manager Walt Weiss to go with the lefty-hitting Ben Paulsen as his first baseman even though Rosario owns rather neutral splits this season (.731 OPS vs. LHP, .762 OPS vs. RHP). Rosario has historically struggled more against righties, however, which may leave him vulnerable to seeing fewer at-bats while he remains on the short end of the platoon. Look for him to at least reenter the lineup Tuesday, when the visiting Rangers will bring southpaw Matt Harrison to the hill.
Wed Jul 8 201517:52Rosario out of lineup Wednesday against Angels
Rosario is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.
Rosario got the start at first base Tuesday, going 1-for-4 with a double. He'll be replaced at first base by Ben Paulson, who will bat sixth in the lineup against right-hander Matt Shoemaker.
Sun Jul 5 201513:44Rosario out of lineup Sunday against Diamondbacks
Rosario is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Rosario had started back-to-back games at first base, going 1-for-7 with three strikeouts over that span. He'll give way to Ben Paulsen on Sunday, as the two continue to battle for reps in the absence of Justin Morneau (concussion).

Rosario went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run double in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Rosario received the start at first base over Ben Paulsen even with the right-handed Chase Anderson on the mound for the Diamondbacks, and the lineup decision paid off immediately when he sparked a three-run first inning with the double. The Rockies weren't able to score Rosario when he led off the top of the 10th inning with a walk, but the loss nor the team's recent offensive struggles don't fall on his shoulders. Rosario has been one of the more productive hitters through eight games of the Rockies' 10-game road trip, going 7-for-22 with two doubles, three RBI, and two walks.

Rosario went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI Saturday, getting another start at first base despite the Rockies facing right-hander Tim Lincecum.
That's four multi-hit performances in four starts for Rosario, whose hot bat has caused the Rockies to move away from a platoon with Ben Paulsen at first base. Once Rosario cools down though, expect him to start seeing the bench more often against same-side pitching.

Rosario went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and his second stolen base of the season in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Rosario started all three games of the series against Arizona and submitted a 7-for-11 showing at the plate that included three RBI. His productivity will likely slow down as the Rockies embark on a three-city, 10-game road trip beginning Friday, but for the time being, Rosario looks like he'll serve as the team's primary first baseman.

Rosario went 2-for-3 and connected on a double and a home run in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
Manager Walt Weiss typically prefers to utilize Rosario against lefty pitchers, but with the Rockies down two outfielders in Corey Dickerson (foot) and Carlos Gonzalez (knee), Ben Paulsen was forced to make the start in left field. That paved the way for Rosario to slot in at first base against Chase Anderson, and he didn't disappoint, notching his first extra-base hits since his two-homer game against the Marlins on June 6. Though not a righty masher by any means, Rosario is at least slashing a so-so .269/.278/.487 against them this season.
Mon Jun 15 201517:29Rosario batting fourth for Rockies against Astros on Monday
Rosario is batting fourth for the Rockies against the Astros on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Rosario and Ben Paulsen have been sharing the workload at first base for the injured Justin Morneau (concussion) and it appears that Rosario will get the lion's share of plate appearances Monday. With just one hit over Colorado's past eight games, however, Rosario is a notch below Paulsen's production as Paulsen has five hits over that same time span.
Sun Jun 7 201500:38Rosario 3-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored ...
Rosario went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Marlins.
He doubled his home run total on the season in the span of two innings, going yard in the third then again in the fourth. Ben Paulsen had started the previous four games at first base, and is 18-for-56 with four homers in 19 games with Colorado, but perhaps this performance will help Rosario earn a slightly larger share of the playing time until Justin Morneau (concussion) returns to action.
Wed May 27 201510:16Rosario out of lineup Wednesday against Reds
Rosario is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Reds, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
Rosario will sit for the fourth time in five games, as manager Walt Weiss has shown a preference to use Ben Paulsen at first base of late. Due to his struggles against right-handed pitching, Rosario may continue to find himself on the low end of the timeshare until Justin Morneau (concussion) returns from the DL.
Sun May 24 201514:58Rosario out of lineup Sunday against Giants
Rosario is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
Manager Walt Weiss elected to go with the red-hot Ben Paulsen for the Sunday start at first base, giving the Rockies an extra lefty bat to counter Giants right-hander Tim Hudson. While Rosario does his best work against southpaws, he'll continue to find himself in the lineup most nights regardless of the matchup until Justin Morneau (concussion) returns to action.

Rosario went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI, and a run scored in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Giants.
Rosario has yet to cool down since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on May 8 and replacing the concussed Justin Morneau as the Rockies' everyday first baseman. He's batting 15-for-47 (.319) in May, chipping in a homer, six RBI, and seven runs. His time behind the plate last season likely makes him catcher-eligible in most formats, and he'll be one of the better fantasy options at that position until Morneau comes back from the DL.
Thu May 21 201512:28Rosario out of lineup Thursday
Rosario is out of the lineup Thursday.
Rosario has been seeing the starts at first base with Justin Morneau (concussion) out, but he will start the game on the bench with righty Jerome Williams on the mound for the Phillies. Ben Paulsen will get the start at first base and hit fifth.
Wed May 20 201510:42Rosario notched two-run triple in Tuesday's win over Phillies
Rosario notched a two-run triple in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.
Rosario has been able to capitalize on the at-bats made available to him following Justin Morneau's placement on the 7-day concussion DL. He's started the last nine games at first base, going 10-for-37 (.270) with a homer, five RBI, and even a stolen base. The Rockies still have six games remaining on their homestand, so at least on a short-term basis, Rosario looks like a worthy roster addition in most formats.
