Tue Nov 12 201315:18Jamaal Tinsley waived, Jazz may call up PG
The Jazz waived PG Jamaal Tinsley on Tuesday.
The move clears a roster spot and Utah is expected to call up a player from the D-League. Given their lack of depth at PG, it stands to reason it will be a guard getting the call-up.

Tue Nov 5 201311:35Jamaal Tinsley to again start at PG Tuesday
Jamaal Tinsley will start at point guard for the second straight game on Tuesday.
Tinsley's first start didn't go so well, as he totaled just two assists and zero points in 14 minutes on Saturday. John Lucas came off the bench and played 31 minutes, so while Tinsley may be listed as the starter, Lucas is the Jazz point guard to own here.

Sun Nov 3 201301:24Tinsley starts, but Lucas gets minutes
Jamaal Tinsley started at point guard for the Jazz on Saturday, but played just 14 minutes, didn't score and handed out two assists.
John Lucas played 31 minutes off the bench and hit 5-of-11 shots for 11 points and four assists. Tinsley isn't worth owning, even when starting, while Lucas will only have minimal value until rookie Trey Burke comes back from his finger injury.

Sat Nov 2 201320:25Jamaal Tinsley moves into the starting lineup
Jamaal Tinsley will start at point guard for the Jazz on Saturday night.
John Lucas III will move to the bench. Lucas has been running the offense more than expected and he ranks first in frontcourt touches per game on his team and 17th in the NBA. The Jazz are 0-2 and Lucas might run more plays with the second unit, but his minutes will likely remain the same. We'd steer clear of both in standard leagues.

Thu Oct 24 201302:24Jamaal Tinsley will sign with the Jazz
Jamaal Tinsley will sign with the Jazz and join the team in Los Angeles for Friday's game.
The Jazz are basically out of options at point guard with John Lucas III, Scott Machado and Lester Hudson failing to string together positive outings for much of the month. Tinsley could end up starting, but his low upside and age will limit him from consideration in standard leagues.

Tue Oct 15 201317:54Jamaal Tinsley and Jazz have mutual interest
Jamaal Tinsley and the Jazz have mutual interest in coming to terms on a deal.
The Jazz only have John Lucas III as their only healthy point guard, so their interest makes sense. Tinsley was with the Jazz last year, playing in 66 games and scoring 3.5 points per game. He still won't be more than a backup behind Lucas while Trey Burke (finger) is on the shelf.

Mon Jul 1 201310:35Jazz don't contact Jamaal Tinsley on Monday
The Jazz did not contact Jamaal Tinsley early Monday morning.
Even though the Jazz are looking to add some veterans to their team, Tinsley may not be the right fit for them. They may prefer a shooter that can open up some space for their young group of big men. Tinsley is obviously not going to be a priority for teams this offseason. There is some reported interest from the Knicks, but nothing is imminent.

Sat Jun 29 201316:32Jamaal Tinsley hopes to return to Jazz
Jamaal Tinsley said he hopes to return to the Jazz next season.
He's 35 year old, played 591 career games and said back in April that he wants to play three or four more years. Tinsley was solid for the Jazz as a starter last season and the team went 20-12 in those games. As the season went on, he wasn't really a factor in the last two months, playing just 11.6 minutes per game. If Trey Burke stays healthy, Tinsley shouldn't be much of a factor.

Fri Apr 19 201317:17Jamaal Tinsley wants to keep playing
Jamaal Tinsley said he thinks he can play 3-4 more years in the NBA.
Thanks to the Mo Williams injury, Tinsley was forced to start 32 games for the Jazz this season. He averaged just 4.8 points, 5.4 assists and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 40.3 percent from the field. At age 35, Tinsely is nothing more than a third point guard.

Thu Apr 11 201312:16Jamaal Tinsley dealing with wrist soreness
Jamaal Tinsley is dealing with a sore wrist and his status is uncertain for Friday vs. Minnesota.
Tinsley doesn't have a major role on this Jazz team and if Alec Burks (ankle) can play, it would help to offset the potential absence of the veteran.

Sun Apr 7 201322:50Jamaal Tinsley (back) plays 15 minutes
Jamaal Tinsley (bruised back) logged 15 minutes off Utah's bench vs. the Warriors, scoring six points on 2-of-3 shooting from downtown.
He also had two assists and two steals, giving his team a nice lift while Mo Williams got a breather, but he's irrelevant in standard leagues.

Jamaal Tinsley (illness) was available on Saturday but he did not leave Utah's bench.
Tinsley did nothing with the starting PG job while Mo Williams was sidelined, and it's anyone's guess if he'll rejoin the new-look Jazz rotation. We're taking him off the injury report.

Mon Mar 11 201319:55Jamaal Tinsley will not play against Detroit
Jamaal Tinsley (illness) will not play against the Pistons on Monday.
He isn't needed now that Mo Williams is back and Tinsley really struggled as the team's starter in Mo's absence. Tinsley shot 30 percent from the field in his previous six games and has no fantasy value.

Tue Mar 5 201318:41Jamaal Tinsley back with the Jazz
Jamaal Tinsley (personal) will rejoin the Jazz for Wednesday morning's shootaround.
Tinsley has missed three of the last four games, but he'll suit up on Wednesday against the Cavs. His exact role is uncertain with Mo Williams (thumb) close to a return and Earl Watson scuffling. We wouldn't waste a pickup on Tinsley.
