Fri Oct 14 201116:00Shane Lindsay outrighted to Triple-A
White Sox sent RHP Shane Lindsay outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Lindsay struggled in four games with the major league club but held a 1.98 ERA and 11.0 K/9 rate at Charlotte, though that also came along with a 7.2 BB/9 rate. Control issues have long been a problem for the 26-year-old, but he has a good enough arm that he'll catch on somewhere if the Sox don't keep him around.

White Sox purchased the contract of RHP Shane Lindsay from Triple-A Charlotte.
This will be the first big-league go-around for the Australian-born Lindsay. He put up solid numbers in 70 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, turning in a 2.18 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 90/59 K/BB ratio. His propensity for the free pass could limit his use out of the White Sox bullpen, however.

White Sox signed RHP Shane Lindsay to a minor league contract.
The deal also comes with an invitation to spring training, but Lindsay is not expected to make Chicago's Opening Day roster. Actually, he should be far from it. The 25-year-old from Australia has not yet reached the major leagues and posted ugly numbers in the minors last season.

Well, that didn't last long. Lindsay was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on June 1, but obviously didn't impress enough people in his limited stay in the organization. The 25-year-old will seek employment elsewhere.

The Yanks claimed Lindsay off waivers from the Rockies a little over 10 days ago, but he didn't last long. The 25-year-old Australian has a 6.59 ERA and a 19/17 K/BB ratio in 13-plus innings at Triple-A this year.

Yankees claimed RHP Shane Lindsay off waivers from the Rockies.
We're surprised Lindsey made it so far on waivers, given his stuff. Still, he's a 25-year-old with a long injury history and he was off to a disappointing beginning in 2010. The former starter had a 6.59 ERA and a 19/17 K/BB ratio in 13 2/3 innings for Triple-A Colorado Springs. The Yankees figure to keep him in the pen in Triple-A.
