Taylor Buchholz will remain on the disabled list for the "foreseeable future" after being diagnosed with depression and anxiety.
Buchholz had a solid 3.12 ERA and 26/7 K/BB ratio over his first 26 innings before being placed on the disabled list in June with what was termed as shoulder fatigue. It appears that depression was actually the reason all along.

Sun Jun 12 201110:50Taylor Buchholz won't be ready when eligible
Mets manager Terry Collins said Taylor Buchholz (shoulder) will not return from the disabled list on Tuesday when first eligible.
No surprise there. Buchholz has had a history of shoulder issues, so the Mets will play it safe with him. It's not clear at this point how much longer he might be sidelined. The right-hander was pitching well before landing on the DL, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.12 WHIP while striking out a batter per inning.

Wed Jun 1 201122:33Taylor Buchholz lands on DL

Buchholz has had shoulder issues in the past, but hopefully this is something that will calm down with a little rest. He's been quite a find for the Mets so far this season, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.12 WHIP while striking out 26 over 26 innings.

Thu May 12 201113:47Taylor Buchholz dominating for Mets
Taylor Buchholz has posted a 1.45 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in his first 16 appearances for the Mets.
He also boasts a terrific 21/6 K/BB ratio over 18 2/3 innings. Buchholz was an under-the-radar, shrewd offseason pick-up for GM Sandy Alderson, who gambled on the right-hander regaining his 2008 form. Buccholz has done just that after missing all of 2009 and a good chunk of 2010 with elbow and back problems.

Mon Feb 28 201109:01Buchholz dealing with hamstring tightness
Taylor Buchholz is currently dealing with hamstring tightness, but doesn't expect to miss any time.
At least it's not his arm, right? Buchholz, 29, has made just nine major league appearances since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June of 2009. The good news is that he tossed two scoreless innings and notched three strikeouts in the Mets' Grapefruit League opener Saturday against the Braves. If healthy, he should crack this bullpen.

Thu Jan 6 201109:00Buchholz could make $1.2M with Mets
Taylor Buchholz could make as much as $1.2 million in his one-year contract with the Mets.
Buchholz signed with the Mets for a base salary of $600,000 and will earn an additional $400,000 if he makes the 25-man roster and is not on the disabled list. He could earn $200,000 more if he makes 60 appearances, maxing him out at $1.2 million. The 29-year-old right-hander hasn't made 60 appearances since his last full season in 2008, but similar to the Chris Capuano signing, the Mets won't mind rewarding him if he makes it there.

Mon Jan 3 201119:51Mets agree to 1-yr deal with Taylor Buchholz
Mets signed RHP Taylor Buchholz to a one-year contract.
Sandy Alderson and company are out to prove that Tommy John survivors are the new market inefficiency. Buchholz, 29, only pitched 12 innings in the big leagues between the Rockies and Blue Jays last season. In addition to making a comeback from Tommy John surgery, he dealt with back problems over the course of the season. He's far from a sure thing at this point, but could make for a nice buy-low signing if he can rediscover his command and velocity.
Mon Jan 3 201119:07Mets sign Taylor Buchholz to 1-year deal
According to Kevin Burkhardt of SNY, the Mets have signed Taylor Buchholz to a one-year contract.
Another low-risk signing for the Mets. In his first season back from Tommy John surgery, Buchholz posted a 5.06 ERA and 16/9 K/BB ratio in the minor leagues and a 3.75 ERA and 9/6 K/BB ratio over 12 innings between the Rockies and Blue Jays. He's still only 29 years old, so there's still plenty of time to see whether he can bounce back to his 2008 levels.

Fri Dec 3 201000:31Red Sox non-tender Taylor Buchholz
Red Sox non-tendered RHP Taylor Buchholz.
Another strange move by the Red Sox. They claimed Buchholz off waivers from the Blue Jays in mid-November and it seemed likely that he would enter spring training next season with a shot at a spot in the Boston bullpen. But now he is a free agent and allowed to sign with any team.
Mon Nov 15 201014:18Red Sox claim Taylor Buchholz from Jays
Red Sox claimed RHP Taylor Buchholz off waivers from the Blue Jays.
Once regarded as a promising relief prospect, Buchholz is now 29 years of age and has been shipped to two different teams in the last two months. That said, he finished the 2010 season with a fine 3.75 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 12 innings of relief and always had great numbers before injuries plagued him in the later part of his career with the Rockies. The righty should get a shot at a spot in Boston's bullpen next spring.

Thu Sep 9 201017:43Blue Jays claim Taylor Buchholz off waivers
Blue Jays claimed RHP Taylor Buchholz off waivers from the Rockies.
It's a bit surprising that the 28-year-old Buchholz made it through waivers and into Toronto's grasp. Sure, he posted an ugly 4.50 ERA and 9/6 K/BB ratio in 10 innings this year for the Rockies, but a few years ago he was regarded as one of the top young setup men in the game. The right-hander will look to turn things around in a new environment.
Wed Sep 1 201019:13Rockies activate Buchholz from disabled list
Rockies activated RHP Taylor Buchholz from the 15-day disabled list.
Buchholz has been out since mid-August with lower back stiffness and has registered only seven relief appearances this season due to a long recovery from Tommy John surgery. He has a 4.50 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 9/6 K/BB ratio. Look for the Rockies to ease him back into action.
Tue Aug 17 201019:54Rockies place Buchholz (back) on DL
Rockies placed RHP Taylor Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 14, with lower back stiffness.
He was cleared to make room for Tuesday's starter Jhoulys Chacin. Buchholz, who just recently made his return from Tommy John surgery on July 24, has a 4.50 ERA over his first seven appearances with the club this season. Look for him to return later this month or in September.
