Well, that's not exactly a promising sign for labor negotiations. Thomas has been integral in the (limited) talks, and his agent said that Thomas doesn't believe the lockout will end this season. As the Vice President of the Player's Association, his departure abroad could be a harbinger of a lengthy lockout. |

He must have an incredibly steep and ice-covered driveway, or you would think the Hawks would have had him shoveled out. Then again, it's just Etan Thomas, so they may not have thought it was worth the hassle. |

Thomas is probably more well known for continuously fighting with ex-teammate Brendan Haywood and for having heart surgery than he is for his basketball skills. He'll definitely have a role with the Hawks, but we'd be a lot more excited about him had this happened three or four years ago. |
