Tolzien completed 7-of-11 passes for 41 yards in Thursday's preseason game. He did not throw a touchdown pass and threw one interception in the contest.
Tolzien's preseason preparation was abbreviated by a concussion, but the good news for him and the Packers is that he made it through the team's fourth preseason game without setback. Tolzien displayed improved mechanics this preseason, and is entering his third season with the Packers; so while fellow reserve quarterback Brett Hundley impressed this preseason, Tolzien is still a near-lock to open the season as the backup behind Aaron Rodgers.

Tolzien (head) will be used as an emergency quarterback in Saturday's preseason game, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.
Tolzien was cleared to play Saturday night after suffering a concussion in last week's game, but the Packers will take the cautious route and only use him in a pinch. Aaron Rodgers will not play Saturday night, so Brett Hundley will start, and Matt Blanchard will see action as the backup.

Tolzien (concussion) is not expected to play against Philadelphia in Saturday's preseason game, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.
With Aaron Rodgers unlikely to play more than a series or two - if at all - Brett Hundley will likely get extensive playing time at quarterback.

Tolzien will receive evaluation after potentially suffering a concussion in Sunday's preseason game against the Steelers.
Tolzien took the final offensive snap of a drive in the middle of the third quarter, throwing an incomplete pass intended for Jeff Janis. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary when he was replaced by rookie quarterback Brett Hundley on the next drive. Unless it turns out to be a severe concussion of some kind, it's unlikely the issue will carry over into the regular season, but it's possible he'll need to sit out the Packers' next preseason game or two if it indeed turns out to be a concussion.
Sun Mar 8 201515:19Tolzien has agreed to one-year deal to remain with Packers
Tolzien has agreed to a one-year deal to remain with the Packers, ESPN.com reports.
Per the report, Tolzien's new deal could be worth up to $1.35 million, with 27-year-old QB now locked into the Packers' backup mix behind Aaron Rodgers, which is more than can be said of Matt Flynn, who is slated to become a free agent on Tuesday.
Mon Jan 26 201512:48Tolzien did not appear in game during 2014 season
Tolzien did not appear in a game during the 2014 season.
Tolzien appeared in three games during 2013 and even started two, but he was not needed at all in 2014 with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers playing in every game after missing seven the year before. The Packers like Tolzien's potential and will likely give him another chance to challenge Matt Flynn for the backup duties during training camp.

Tolzien completed 8-of-12 passes for 124 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.
Tolzien played just over a quarter Saturday and held his own in rough conditions. He is on track to open the season as the Packers' third quarterback as long as they keep three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster.

Sun Nov 17 201320:44Tolzien tosses three picks in loss to Giants
Making his first NFL start, Scott Tolzien completed 24-of-34 passes for 339 yards and three interceptions in Green Bay's Week 11 loss to the Giants.
Tolzien didn't play horribly, but his final interception was a poor throw. Late in the fourth quarter, he got lazy and didn't throw a swing-out pass high enough. Jason Pierre-Paul snatched it out of the air and returned it for a touchdown, sealing up the win with less than two minutes to play. Other than that, Tolzien found some openings down field and took some chances. He wasn't just throwing slants and check-downs. If Aaron Rodgers can't return for Week 12, Tolzien should get another start. The Vikings are up next for Green Bay.

Mon Aug 26 201316:1749ers waive Scott Tolzien
49ers waived QB Scott Tolzien.
The Niners were intrigued by Tolzien's "headiness" and "moxie," but he lacked NFL-caliber tangible qualities. San Francisco will move forward -- for now -- with Colt McCoy, B.J. Daniels, and Seneca Wallace behind Colin Kaepernick.

Thu Feb 28 201309:30Scott Tolzien penciled in as Kaep's backup
Scott Tolzien is currently penciled in as Colin Kaepernick's backup.
Tolzien, a 2011 undrafted rookie out of Wisconsin, has never thrown a regular-season pass. He's also a strict pocket quarterback, which could prove problematic for the scheme if the mobile Kaepernick goes down. It's certainly possible that the Niners use one of their 15 draft picks on an athletic signal-caller or find one in free agency to compete with Tolzien.

49ers declared QB Scott Tolzien, RB Jewel Hampton, OG Joe Looney, S Trent Robinson, OLB Cam Johnson, NT Ian Williams and DL Tony Jerod-Eddie inactive for Super Bowl XLVII against the Ravens.
RE Justin "Cowboy" Smith is ready to roll despite a 50 percent tear in his left triceps, while receivers Chad Hall and A.J. Jenkins are both active. Hall played ahead of Jenkins in the NFC Championship Game despite being signed off the active roster just one day earlier.

Sun Sep 11 201115:0249ers declare inactives for Week 1
49ers declared QB Scott Tolzien, NT Ian Williams, WR Kyle Williams, S Dashon Goldson, OLs Mike Person and Daniel Kilgore, and DE Demarcus Dobbs inactive for Week 1 against the Seahawks.
The Niners' top two QBs are Alex Smith and rookie Colin Kaepernick. They're going thin on the defensive line, perhaps because the Seahawks' run game isn't very intimidating. Of course, neither is Seattle's passing "attack."

Sun Sep 4 201113:4449ers claim QB Scott Tolzien from Bolts
49ers claimed QB Scott Tolzien off waviers from the Chargers.
Undrafted out of Wisconsin, Tolzien was a favorite of Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee throughout training camp. After completing an impressive 25-of-40 passes for 302 yards in preseason action, he'll take over as San Fran's No. 3 QB. Tolzien is a nice fit for Jim Harbaugh's offense.

Fri Aug 5 201118:09Scott Tolzien expected to make the Chargers
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune expects undrafted rookie QB Scott Tolzien to make the Chargers' final roster.
We've got a long way to go -- i.e. four preseason games -- but the early returns on Tolzien are promising. "This kid is sooo smart, so accurate, gets rid of the ball so quick," writes Acee. "He's Drew Brees without having to be forced into playing so soon." It sounds like the Chargers may have found Philip Rivers' backup of the future after whiffing on Jonathan Crompton.
