Ugly. Lopez gave up two runs in the bottom of the first and was charged with four of the eight runs scored by the Cardinals in the fifth. He allowed eight hits (including a two-run homer to Albert Pujols) while walking three and striking out two. The veteran right-hander has actually pitched fairly decently since joining the Cubs, but Saturday's outing served as a reminder that he shouldn't be anywhere near your fantasy roster.

He should be avoided as a fantasy option.

According to beat writer Paul Sullivan, manager Mike Quade made the move because he thinks winning a series against rival St. Louis would help restore some of Chicago's confidence after their recently concluded 3-6 homestand. The move was made possible by a Thursday off-day.
