Sat May 22 201010:41Rosales nears return to Diamondbacks
Leo Rosales (foot), out since the end of April, appears to be around six weeks from returning to the Diamondbacks.
Rosales had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot, but now appears to be slowly progressing toward resuming baseball activities. Though he struggled at the major league level last year, Rosales was solid at Triple-A Reno, where he was 2-1 with a 1.40 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP in 19 1/3 innings of work. If he can bring that kind of effectiveness to the majors, he'll be a big boon to the Diamondbacks' shaky bullpen.
