2B Rey Navarro was acquired off waivers by the Angels from the Orioles on Wednesday. Navarro, 26, hit .276/.276/.448 with one homer and three RBIs in 10 games for Baltimore this year. He batted .261/.310/.372 with six homers and 23 RBIs in 89 games for Triple-A Norfolk.

Navarro was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

With Bud Norris (illness) returning from the DL to make the start Sunday against the Indians, the Orioles determined that keeping Navarro, a utility infielder, was an unnecessary luxury. Navarro was only with the Orioles for two games during his latest stint with the big club.

Navarro was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, ABC reports.

Navarro will return to Baltimore for the third time this season after hitting .315 with a home run and five RBI at Triple-A. The 25-year-old is hitting .276 (8-for-29) in 10 games for Baltimore in 2015.

With Evererth Cabrera's activation from the DL on Friday, the Orioles decided to option Navarro down to their Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk. Navarro batted .276 with a home run in 29 at-bats with the Orioles before being sent down.

Navarro is out of the lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Steve Pearce will get the nod at second base Saturday and bat fifth in place of Navarro. After hitting his first home run of 2015 on Wednesday, Navarro went 0-for-3 in Friday's loss.

Navarro went 1-for-4 with his first MLB homer in Wednesday's win over Toronto.

With the long ball off Jays closer Brett Cecil, Navarro now owns a .304 average and .826 OPS over his eight games this year. The second baseman went 6-for-14 with a double, a triple and a homer in his four games with Triple-A Norfolk this year, but has otherwise never been nearly so impactful a hitter in the minor leagues. Nonetheless, Navarro could find his way into some more playing time over the next week or so thanks to Ryan Flaherty's groin injury.

Navarro was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Navarro will take the roster spot of Ryan Flaherty (groin), who was placed on the 15-day DL Tuesday. The switch-hitting infielder was with the team just a few days ago, but won't have to wait 10 days to be recalled again since he was part of a DL move. Navarro is 6-for-19 with two doubles during his time in the majors this season.

Navarro was officially optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Navarro was expected to be optioned, but only if T.J. McFarland made it to join the team in time for Friday's game. That appears to be the case, and Navarro will head to Triple-A.

It was previously reported that Navarro would be optioned, but the move has not officially been made and it sounds like Navarro may be afforded an extra day on the roster. Navarro has gone 6-for-19 with two doubles and two RBI in seven games with Baltimore so far this season.

With both Jonathan Schoop and J.J. Hardy on the disabled list, it appears manager Buck Showalter has opted to plug those holes with Navarro and Everth Cabrera at their respective positions. The 25-year-old is off to a 1-for-7 start to his big league career and doesn't have much of a prospect pedigree, so he probably won't make for an attractive target outside of AL-only formats at this time.

Navarro was 1-for-3 with a run scored in his major league debut against Boston Friday night.

He could get some playing time with the Orioles missing three middle infielders on the disabled list right now. However, he doesn't run much and doesn't typically provide much power so his fantasy value could be limited. Once J.J. Hardy, Jonathan Schoop, and/or Ryan Flaherty return from the disabled list, he is likely to return to Triple-A.

Navarro (groin) was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

With Ryan Flaherty (groin) becoming the latest Baltimore middle infielder to hit the disabled list, Navarro will get his first taste of the major leagues, shortly after recovering from a groin injury of his own. The 25-year-old may see a good bit of playing time at second base and shortstop in the short term, but he'll likely head back to Triple-A Norfolk when the Orioles have Flaherty and/or J.J. Hardy (shoulder) available. Navarro has posted impressive strikeout and walk rates in the minor leagues over the last few years, but he isn't a base-stealer and only has middling power. There's very little upside here, even if he does cut into the playing time of Everth Cabrera and Jimmy Paredes.

Navarro is on the minor league disabled list with a groin injury, MASN Sports reports.

Navarro would have been considered to replace Jonathan Schoop on the roster, but Navarro's injury has him on the shelf too. Navarro has not played in a game since spring training. Jimmy Paredes was activated from his rehab to replace Schoop, and he is out of options, which means that even if Navarro can get healthy he is going to have a tough time getting on the MLB roster.

It came as a surprise when the Orioles signed Navarro to a major league deal in November, but then the club signed Everth Cabrera and that buried Navarro even further on the depth chart. Navarro went 4-for-12 this spring. He figures to be a starter at Triple-A after splitting the last two seasons between Double-A and Triple-A levels.

Navarro has agreed to a major league deal with the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports.

Navarro hasn't quite lived up to expectations as a former third-round pick, but he'll be just 25 at the start of next season and posted a career-best .778 OPS between Double-A and Triple-A last season. Defense is Navarro's calling card, and he may be deployed most as a late-inning replacement in the middle infield in 2015, but he's also developed some pop in recent years (24 homers in last two seasons).

Royals acquired SS Reynaldo Navarro from the Diamondbacks for RHP Carlos Rosa.

Navarro is a raw infield prospect that hasn't appeared in a game above Single-A. But the Royals will hope a new look and new coaching staff will help his development. The 20-year-old was batting .241/.307/.329 with a homer and two steals this year in 89 plate appearances at Single-A Visalia.
