Per the report, with the team not re-signing Brandon Meriweather, Johnson has a good chance to start at strong safety for Washington this season. The 26-year-old recorded 19 tackles in 15 games as a reserve safety for the Seahawks in 2014.

Seahawks re-signed S Jeron Johnson to a one-year contract.
The 25-year-old former Boise State star was reported to have been tendered at the second-round level. If he signed that tender, Johnson will be owed $1.431 million. Johnson is used sparingly on defense, but contributed three special teams tackles last season. The Seahawks apparently believe he has potential to contribute in the secondary, based on his relatively pricey tender cost.
