Fri Dec 2 201120:10Lakers don't expect UFA Joe Smith back
Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said Friday that he doesn't expect unrestricted free agent Joe Smith back this season.
Recently the 35-year old Smith said he'd have to be dragged out of the NBA, and we think he has another run left in him. Aside from his leadership, he has kept himself in good shape and is relatively injury-free. Look for him to find a home once the free agent dust has settled.

Wed Dec 15 201011:55Smith traded to Lakers

Wed Oct 27 201012:25Johnson confirms Joe Smith is his starter
Coach Avery Johnson confirmed that Joe Smith will start at power forward in Wednesday's season opener.
Smith and Kris Humphries have been sharing time at practice, with rookie Derrick Favors also rotating in. With Smith's knees needing to be warm, it makes sense to start the veteran. This remains Troy Murphy's job as soon as he gets healthy, and all the other guys should be on waivers.

Fri Sep 10 201011:59Joe Smith to sign with New Jersey
Joe Smith is expected to sign with the Nets on Friday as long as he passes his physical.
They recently cut Sean May, giving Smith a chance of making the team. The journeyman shouldn't be worth owning in fantasy leagues this year.
