Chambers spent last season in the minors with Houston and Toronto, but played in the majors for portions of the previous three seasons. Since returning from the disabled list July 26, Chambers (groin) has gone 5-for-10 with two doubles and four runs scored with Triple-A Buffalo.
The 27-year-old has been locked in at the plate after missing 23 games with a left groin strain. He isn't likely to get a shot with the big club in Toronto anytime soon, but he does have 84 major league games under his belt with the St. Louis Cardinals, so he should be able to provide some veteran leadership to the Bisons.

Adron Chambers hit a walkoff RBI single Tuesday as the Cardinals edged the Pirates 4-3 in 14 innings.
It was a sloppily-managed and sloppily-played but unforgettable game in St. Louis between the top two teams in the National League Central. Chambers, who entered as a pinch-hitter for Edward Mujica in the bottom of the 10th inning, finally iced the game in the bottom of the 14th with a drive to shallow left field that just barely scored Jon Jay from second base.
