Thu May 3 201200:39Bobby Simmons scores nine in start
Bobby Simmons started in place of Caron Butler and hit 4-of-5 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points and one rebound in Wednesday's loss.
Simmons did some of his damage very late, with the game out of reach, but if he continues to start, he'll be worth a look in fantasy playoff leagues. Especially if the Clippers end up winning the series.

Wed May 2 201220:49Bobby Simmons to start for Caron Butler
Bobby Simmons will start for the Clippers in Game 2 on Wednesday in place of injured Caron Butler.
Simmons could start the rest of the way for the Clippers, as Butler is out for the playoffs with a broken hand that will require surgery. Simmons, who has bounced around on 10-day contracts this year, will have to play well to keep the job, but if he's available in your playoff league, keep a close eye on him early tonight.

Tue May 1 201214:17Bobby Simmons to get a chance for LAC?
Bobby Simmons is a candidate to pick up minutes with Caron Butler (hand) out.
It's unclear who will start at small forward in Game 2, but the Clippers could turn to Simmons in order to keep their bench rotation intact. The problem is that Simmons has racked up three straight DNP-CDs, including Game 1 against the Grizzlies. Nick Young and Randy Foye are much better bets for a boost in production.

Simmons played out two 10-day contracts and it looked as though L.A. would let him walk, but he's coming back for the duration of the season. His presence gives the Clippers some depth behind Caron Butler, but there's no fantasy value to be had here.

Fri Nov 5 201013:53Spurs waive Bobby Simmons
The Spurs have waived veteran forward Bobby Simmons.
Simmons helped fill out the Spurs' bench rotation while Matt Bonner (ankle) rehabbed, but clearly wasn't viewed as a long-term addition. If you picked him up (for whatever reason) it's now time to drop him.

Thu Oct 28 201022:23Simmons could benefit from Bonner's injury
Richard Jefferson said Thursday that he thinks Bobby Simmons will be utilized as an undersized power forward while Matt Bonner misses the next 10-14 days with a sprained right ankle.
With most of the Spurs' frontcourt either old or injured, somebody has to pick up the slack. Whether he is right or not Simmons should be ignored in most, if not all leagues for now. But if you're in an extremely deep format he could be worth watching to see if RJ's prediction pans out.

Mon Sep 27 201012:54Bobby Simmons at Spurs' training camp
The Spurs have added veteran small forward Bobby Simmons to their training camp roster.
Simmons rose to prominence with the Clippers in 2004-05, but his production fell off steeply after he signed with the Bucks (and was eventually traded to the Nets). If he makes the team, he should backup Richard Jefferson at SF.
