Tue Mar 6 201214:04Reyes still planning to pitch for O's?
Dennys Reyes told Fernando Ballesteros of Puro Beisbol that he's still planning to pitch for the Orioles this season despite getting released this weekend.
Reyes suffered a torn tendon in his left middle finger while pitching in the Mexican Winter League and is still undergoing therapy. "They had to release me because they couldn't pay my contract with me being here (in Mexico)," Reyes said. "If they hadn't released me, I could have complained to the Player's Union in order to get them to pay me. Unofficially, I still belong to them."

Sat Apr 9 201108:28Dennys Reyes would report to Triple-A
Dennys Reyes told the Red Sox before being designated for assignment Friday that he would be willing to report to Triple-A Pawtucket if he clears waivers.
He's unlikely to be claimed, so it sounds like he'll be at Pawtucket for a while. Though Reyes struggled in his short time with the Sox, he would give them solid, cheap depth from the left side of the bullpen.

Dennys Reyes had a forgettable sixth inning Wednesday night, hitting two batters and walking a third on 12 pitches before getting pulled.
"I was going too quick to the plate," he said. "My arm was too far in front of my body. It was mechanical. I couldn't command my pitches." Reyes threw only one strike in the inning. Six of the 10 batters he has faced this season have gotten on base.

Sat Mar 26 201115:19Dennys Reyes will make Red Sox roster
Dennys Reyes will make the Red Sox' Opening Day roster.
Reyes entered camp on a minor league deal and had his opt-out clause extended a day so that the Sox could have more time to make a decision on the last couple spots in thie bullpen. It appears they've made the decision to keep him after he'd posted a 3.00 ERA with eight strikeouts over nine innings. It could mean that Hideki Okajima is slated to start the year in the minors, as the Red Sox reportedly only want to carry one lefty in the bullpen.

Reyes has allowed just one run and five hits in seven innings of work this spring and will probably decide to stick around even if the Red Sox don't deem him ready for a big league spot immediately. The lefty had a hard enough time finding a minor league contract this winter.

After throwing his second session of live batting practice on Thursday, Dennys Reyes has been deemed ready for game action.
He'll pitch against the Orioles on Saturday. A lefty specialist that let lefties tee off on him to the tune of .307 last season, Reyes may have a hard time nailing down a spot in Boston's stacked bullpen this spring.

Sat Feb 5 201109:07Report: Red Sox reach agreement with Reyes
FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Red Sox have agreed to a minor league deal with Dennys Reyes.
Reyes had a major league deal in place with the Phillies earlier this offseason that fell through, so he'll have to settle for a minor league deal. He lands in a good spot, though, as the Red Sox are unsettled on the left side of their bullpen. Reyes, who held a 3.55 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 25/21 K/BB ratio over 38 innings in 2010 with the Cardinals, will compete with a host of relievers for one of the final spots in the pen.

Fri Feb 4 201119:46Report: Red Sox close to signing Dennys Reyes
ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Red Sox are close to signing Dennys Reyes to a minor league contract.
It's a good fit. The Red Sox at the moment have no reliable left-hander in the bullpen, though they're hoping for a bounce-back from Hideki Okajima. Reyes pitched poorly for the Cardinals in 2010, posting a 3.94 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 25/21 K/BB ratio over 38 innings, but he was much better the previous two years and gives the Sox a more reliable option over Andrew Miller and Rich Hill.

Fri Dec 17 201015:42Phils cut off deal with lefty Dennys Reyes
Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports that the Phillies have cut off their deal with left-handed reliever Dennys Reyes.
The two sides agreed to a one-year, $1.1 million contract last week that contained a $1.35 million option for 2012. But something must have gone wrong in Reyes' physical. He registered a 3.94 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 25/21 K/BB ratio in 50 appearances this past season for St. Louis. Now, for the second time this winter, he is a free agent.
