Tue Sep 3 201316:40Mike Bibby participating in Spurs mini-camp
Free agent Mike Bibby is reportedly participating in a mini-camp with the Spurs this week.
Most of the players in attendance are hoping for training camp invites, and it's possible Bibby is trying to land a minimum deal with the Spurs. Even if he does latch on with an NBA team, his spot-shooting role off the bench won't be conducive to fantasy value.

Sat Aug 10 201319:06Mike Bibby trying for one more NBA season
Mike Bibby hopes to play one more year in the NBA, after which he may pursue a coaching career.
"I'm going to try to play another year. We'll see what happens," said Bibby. "I've been working hard all summer, and we'll see if somebody picks me up." The 35-year-old PG was ineffective in his last stint with the Knicks in 2011-12, shooting 28.2 percent from the field while playing typically atrocious defense, and it's very unlikely that he'll make an NBA roster.

Wed Dec 12 201213:51Report: Grizzlies working out Mike Bibby
The Grizzlies are working out free agent PG Mike Bibby, sources tell USA Today's Sam Amick.
The jokes write themselves here, but Bibby would not have fantasy relevance while playing in a backup role for the team if signed.

Mon Sep 24 201209:47Mike Bibby won't sign before training camp
Unrestricted FA Mike Bibby will not sign with a team before training camp.
However, Bibby's camp "expects him to sign somewhere." Considering he shot 28.2 percent from the field last season and just 31.8 percent from behind the 3-point line, it's going to be tough for him to land a guaranteed deal.

Fri Aug 31 201209:57Mike Bibby won't be returning to the Knicks
Unrestricted free agent Mike Bibby is "unlikely" to return to the Knicks, a source tells ESPN New York.
Of course, we really didn't need a source to point out what is seemingly the obvious. However, the same source did say that Bibby is expected to find a home before too long. The Knicks don't need to retain Bibby after bringing in Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni in the offseason, and Bibby's best days are well behind him. The No. 2 overall pick of the 1998 draft averaged 2.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 28.2 percent shooting last year. Bibby is currently working out in Arizona with his brother-in-law Eddie House.

Thu May 10 201213:48Mike Bibby a free agent for Knicks
Beat writer Alan Hahn suggests that the Knicks could bring back unrestricted free agent Mike Bibby for the veteran minimum.
Mike Woodson, who is expected to be promoted from interim to permanent coach shortly, has great trust in Bibby. The problem is that he'll be 34 on Sunday and is no longer a playmaker or defender. Bibby would be a third-string point guard at best.

Mon May 7 201211:24Mike Bibby to start in Game 5
Interim coach Mike Woodson said Mike Bibby will start in Wednesday's Game 5 against the Heat.
With Baron Davis (knee) out and Jeremy Lin (knee) doubtful, the Knicks are in dire straights. Bibby has averaged 20.4 minutes per game in the series so far, but managed just 4.2 points and 3.7 assists per game. Woodson would be better off using Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith as his primary playmakers.

Sun May 6 201219:08Mike Bibby could start at PG for Knicks
With Baron Davis sidelined by a dislocated right kneecap, Mike Bibby could start at PG for the Knicks in Game 5.
Jeremy Lin may return to action on Wednesday, and we expect J.R. Smith to take on more ball-handling duties, but New York will still need something from Bibby. He made a critical 3-pointer from the corner to keep the Heat at bay on Sunday, a rare instance of clutch shooting after years of inexorable decline.

Fri Apr 20 201222:43Mike Bibby scores 12 points in another start
Mike Bibby started again in place of Baron Davis (flu) and finished with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting (4-of-5 from deep) with two rebounds, four assists and two steals.
With Davis battling numerous injuries, the Knicks have turned to Bibby to pick up the slack and he has responded nicely thus far. Tonight's numbers are about the most you can expect from the veteran, though.

Thu Apr 19 201210:56Mike Bibby to start playoff games for Knicks?
According to Marc Berman, Mike Bibby could start in the playoffs with Baron Davis battling injuries.
Berman calls Bibby "Woodson's ace in the hole," but we wouldn't go that far when talking about Bibby at this point in his career. The veteran did have eight assists with just one turnover on Wednesday and doesn't have limitations due to injury concerns, so it's not a shocking idea that Bibby could see more time moving forward.

Sat Mar 31 201200:50Bibby plays six minutes against the Hawks
Mike Bibby played just six minutes against the Hawks on Friday, despite Baron Davis having to leave the game due to his hamstring injury.
It looks like the Knicks will turn to Iman Shumpert to play point guard in an emergency, as Bibby and Douglas are glued to the bench. That emergency could happen at anytime, too.

Sat Mar 17 201221:43Bibby very quiet despite Baron's absence
Mike Bibby had five points and one assist off the Knicks' bench on Sunday, playing 10 minutes in the team's third consecutive win.
If this is all Bibby could muster with Baron Davis injured, there's obviously no reason to give him a second thought in fantasy leagues. Baron's absence mostly benefitted J.R. Smith (11 points on 4-of-12 shooting, with three 3s), who matched his season-high with 30 minutes played.

Sat Jan 14 201222:45Mike Bibby quiet despite starting on Saturday
Starting at PG in the Knicks' new-look lineup, Mike Bibby had six points, two 3-pointers and three assists in 20 minutes.
This about sums up Bibby's fantasy appeal -- a handful of points, 3s and assists, and not much else. His role will be diminished even further once Baron Davis is healthy enough to start.

Sat Jan 14 201220:02Bibby replaces Fields in Knicks starting five
Mike Bibby replaced Landry Fields in the Knicks' starting lineup on Saturday.
Iman Shumpert moves over to SG and this seems to indicate that Shumpert will start even after Baron Davis returns to action. Bibby could be a worthwhile source of 3-pointers and assists if he keeps the job, but we're always skeptical of his value these days.

Fri Jan 13 201200:01Bibby back in action for the Knicks
Mike Bibby (ankle, back) returned to action on Thursday after being a healthy scratch on Wednesday, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with two rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes.
Bibby is not worth looking at until he proves he can stick in the rotation and provide consistent 3-point shooting.

Tue Jan 10 201201:53Bibby tweaks his ankle in Monday's game
Mike Bibby left Monday's game due to a tweaked ankle, and played just six minutes with no statistics.
We'll call him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Sixers, as Bibby continues to deal with the nagging injuries that old vets invariably attract.

Sat Jan 7 201222:48Mike Bibby (back) nails four 3s in Knicks win
Mike Bibby (back) got hot off the Knicks' bench on Saturday, hitting 4-of-4 three-pointers to finish with 16 points, three rebounds and three assists in a mere 15 minutes of action.
Bibby's primary function is to plant himself ouside the 3-point arc to space the court, and nights like this will be rare indeed. He was averaging 0.8 threes prior to this outburst, so he's probably not even worth owning as a specialist. His back injury is obviously not a concern.

Fri Jan 6 201222:33Bibby tweaks back in Friday's game
Mike Bibby tweaked his back during Friday's game, and finished with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting (3-of-3 from downtown) with one rebound, three assists, and two steals in 21 minutes.
There's no word yet on whether or not he'll play on Saturday against the Pistons, and if Toney Douglas continues to struggle Bibby might have some value as a 3-point specialist. We'd wait for Bibby to produce once more and let the Douglas situation play out before adding him, assuming he's healthy.

Fri Jan 6 201213:11Mike Bibby expected to return on Friday
Mike Bibby (sore foot), who missed Wednesday's game, is expected to return on Friday.
This news should not impact your fantasy league as Bibby has been nothing more than depth at the end of the bench for the Knicks.
