Bowden had a 1.91 ERA and 52:20 K:BB ratio in 75.1 innings with Triple-A Norfolk before opting out of his contract with Baltimore. He'll likely just add depth at Triple-A, but the Twins are in need of better middle relievers in the majors so he could get a shot.

Bowden spent all of the 2014 season in Japan's Pacific League, where he accrued a 4.50 ERA over 40 innings. While those numbers weren't enough for him to garner much interest as he pursues a return to North America, Bowden's standing as a veteran of 103 MLB appearances should at least garner him an invite to the Reds' big-league spring training.

After pitching a scoreless 12th, Michael Bowden gave up three runs in the 13th against the Reds on Monday and took a loss.
Bowden might have tossed his hat into the closer ring after getting a two-run lead in the 13th tonight, but he couldn't hold it. Of course, since it was a tie game when he entered, Bowden didn't get a blown save. He's pitched reasonably well for the Cubs this season, giving up runs in three of nine appearances.
