Raynor asked for his release after being reassigned to minor league camp earlier in the week. The 26-year-old outfielder played 11 games with the Pirates last season after being selected as a Rule 5 pick, but was returned to the Marlins in May. Known for his speed, Raynor has a .297/.380/.445 batting line over parts of five seasons in the minors. |

Raynor, 26, was selected with the second pick in last December's Rule 5 Draft. He was designated for an assignment by the Pirates last week after starting the season 2-for-10 with a run scored. He's a bit old for a prospect as this point, but with his elite speed, he makes for a fine piece of organizational depth. |
