Inman had three receptions on five targets for 88 yards in Sunday's win against the Browns after both Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson had to exit the game with injuries.
Floyd suffered a concussion and Johnson pulled a hamstring in this game, leaving Keenan Allen and Inman the only two healthy wide receivers for the afternoon. Inman knows the offense and has performed well in spot duty before, so he should be productive if he forced to play a larger role in the coming weeks, but the injuries to Floyd and Johnson obviously need to be monitored closely.

Inman suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals, ESPN.com reports.
Inman is thus iffy for next Saturday's game against the Seahawks, which is problematic, with the wideout still looking to establish slotting in the Chargers' offense behind Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson.

Inman has a good chance to make the final roster, according to ESPN's Eric D. Williams.
Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson will enter training camp as the top three wide receivers, with Inman, Jacoby Jones and a slew of roster-bubble candidates competing for spots further down the depth chart. Inman finished the 2014 season on a high note, catching 12-of-17 targets for 158 yards over the last two games, accounting for all the receiving production to this point in his career. Allen missed those two games, which explains the sudden jump in Inman's usage.

Inman had five receptions on eight targets for 79 yards without a score in the season finale on Sunday at Kansas City.
Inman was pressed into service in Week 16 after an injury to Keenan Allen and caught 12 passes for 158 yards in two games. Inman had never recorded a catch in the NFL before these two games, but he demonstrated amazing hands and made several acrobatic catches. It will be interesting if he can parlay this two-game window of opportunity into a long-term role on the team in 2015.

Inman had seven catches for 79 yards in Saturday's overtime win over the 49ers.
Who? The 25-year-old journeyman had not caught an NFL pass since coming out of Virginia in 2010, but he took advantage of Keenan Allen's absence Saturday night to play a key role for the Chargers. It's a great story, but any fantasy owners still looking for Week 17 options should probably find a receiver with more of a proven track record.

Inman did not catch any passes in Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, despite getting three targets.
Following a 3-107-1 receiving line in the preseason opener, Inman has just one catch for 15 yards on six targets over the last two games. He was previously looking good to make the roster as an undrafted free agent, but it may now be the case that he needs to impress in the preseason finale.

Inman caught three passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason opener against the Cowboys.
The San Diego Union-Tribune's Michael Gehlken said he would "almost" be shocked if Inman, a rookie UDFA, doesn't make the team. While Gehlken probably wouldn't be all that surprised, the point stands that Inman is having a strong camp, with his practices backed by a standout performance in Thursday's game. The Chargers' wideout group looks rather shaky behind No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen.

Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman has had a "productive start" to training camp.
"He's done a nice job the past couple of days," said coach Mike McCoy. "He had a nice offseason also." The top of the Chargers' wide receiver depth chart is set, but Inman could carve out a role as a reserve receiver and special teams player. Inman posted a 50-739-6 line for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL last season.
