Diaz saw just 33 at-bats with the Pirates this past season and hit only .248/.302/.285 over 274 at-bats for their Triple-A affiliate. He's a good fielder, though, and will turn just 24 in February. He'll compete for a bench job in spring training. | ||||||

Diaz, 23, was acquired from the Red Sox in the Adam LaRoche trade last July. He has a .267/.330/.343 batting line over parts of six seasons in the minors and is generally known for his glove. | ||||||
