Tigers signed SS Argenis Diaz to a minor league contract.
Diaz saw just 33 at-bats with the Pirates this past season and hit only .248/.302/.285 over 274 at-bats for their Triple-A affiliate. He's a good fielder, though, and will turn just 24 in February. He'll compete for a bench job in spring training.

Pirates non-tendered SS Argenis Diaz.
An easy call for the Pirates. Diaz is a slick infielder, but he posted an ugly .248 batting average and .285 on-base percentage at the Triple-A level this year. He's only 23, though, and should draw interest.

Pirates recalled INF Argenis Diaz from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Bobby Crosby and Andy LaRoche are hurting right now, so the move affords Pirates manager John Russell with another infielder, at least for now. Diaz, 23, was acquired from the Red Sox in the Adam LaRoche trade last July. He has a .267/.330/.343 batting line over parts of six seasons in the minors and is generally known for his glove.
