Cedeno struggled to attract a healthy market this winter in free agency after hitting .242/.287/.330 in 288 plate appearances last season between the Astros and Padres. The 30-year-old can play all around the infield but is doubtful to make the Phillies' Opening Day roster.

Ronny Cedeno left Monday's game against the Diamondbacks after he was hit in the helmet by a Heath Bell fastball in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Padres manager Bud Black said after the game that Cedeno was dealing with a bit of a headache and will be monitored overnight. He'll almost certainly be tested for a concussion. The veteran infielder is hitting .268 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 38 games since joining the Padres.
