NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Yankees placed left-hander CC Sabathia and third baseman Brandon Drury on the 10-day disabled list. The moves Saturday came a day after New York lost to Baltimore 7-3, with Pedro Alvarez hitting a grand slam in the 14th-inning in a game lasting 5 hours, 20 minutes.Sabathia left Friday's game with a sore right hip after throwing just 58 pitches over four innings. The move to the disabled list for the 37-year-old pitcher came despite a clean MRI.Drury has been dealing with severe migraines for some time. He already has seen a doctor and is set for more tests Monday.Jonathan Holder, who served up Alvarez's slam, was optioned to Triple-A.To fill the vacancies, the Yankees recalled right-handers Luis Cessa and Domingo German from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and signed utility man Jace Peterson to a major league contract.Sabathia, a six-time All-Star, threw just 58 pitches."I don't think he wanted to go on the DL, certainly, but I also think there's a level of understanding there just understanding the roster crunch that we're in," manager Aaron Boone said. "Hopefully it's a situation where he misses just one start.""Whether it's been a good game or a bad game I've had it. I've known that my vision was not right and I've just been battling through," a visibly uncomfortable Drury said before Saturday's game. "It's baseball. I need my eyes to be right to play.""It's definitely a wait-and-see and hopefully Monday is the start of getting some answers where we can really put him through the extensive tests and stuff," Boone said. "Right now, we're just going to support him."The health issues do not end there. Infielder Tyler Wade was pulled from Friday's game with flu-like symptoms. He had fever, shakes and dry heaving. He was administered IV treatment and was feeling ill before Saturday's game."He's still a little under the weather but definitely feels a little better this morning, so hopefully it's not something that's too long with him," Boone said.Catcher Gary Sanchez was in better shape after limping off the field with leg cramps late in the game."He's walking normally," Boone said. "He's tired from last night, obviously, but maybe just cramping and stuff and obviously he's off today but hoping we avoided something."
