Rudolph caught two passes off of four targets for seven yards in Sunday's loss to Denver.
Rudolph is second on the team with 14 catches on 22 targets, ranking 13th among league tight ends in both categories. Rudolph has thus far failed to deliver on the promise of his 2012 season and with the Vikings apparently set on making Adrian Peterson the bread and butter of their offense again, is not being featured heavily enough to warrant a weekly start.

Rudolph had two receptions for 14 yards and was targeted five times in Sunday's win over San Diego.
Rudolph's five targets were a team high, so he's still perhaps Teddy Bridgewater's top target in the passing game. However, Bridgewater threw just 24 passes with Adrian Peterson having a strong game running the ball. Rudolph will likely be a boom-or-bust fantasy producer since he'll be a big threat in the red zone, but may not get many passes thrown his way in a run-focused offense.

Rudolph nabbed five catches on seven targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Rudolph scored his touchdown on a five-yard out-and-in out of the right slot. Through two weeks, Rudolph leads the Vikings in targets and receptions with 14 and 10, respectively. Though the Vikings appear to be set to be a power-running team, Rudolph should maintain value as a short-yardage and red-zone target.

Rudolph had five receptions (on seven targets) for 53 yards in Monday's season opener against the 49ers.
Rudolph tied for the Vikings' team-lead in targets Monday and trailed only teammate Mike Wallace in receptions and yards. The tight end did his part in Minnesota's passing game, but without many approaches to the red zone, Rudolph's touchdown potential went unfulfilled.

Rudolph had two receptions for 11 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Dallas.
Rudolph didn't have a touchdown in the preseason and had just five receptions in three games (he'll likely sit out the final game), but he looks set to be a key part of the offense and could be a big factor in the red zone. The bigger question will be if he can stay healthy. Rudolph missed eight games in 2013 with a broken foot and then missed seven games last year with a sports hernia and injured knee.

Rudolph had two receptions for 24 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Tampa Bay.
Rudolph looked in sync with quarterback Teddy Bridewater for a second consecutive preseason game. He looks set to be a key part of the offense and could be a big factor in the red zone, but the bigger question will be if he can stay healthy. Rudolph missed eight games in 2013 with a broken foot and then missed seven games last year with a sports hernia and injured knee.

Rudolph caught 2-of-2 targets for 22 yards in Sunday's Hall of Fame Game against the Steelers.
Rudolph and most of the other starters only played one series, going for 51 yards on 10 plays before Jerick McKinnon was stuffed on a fourth down. Rudolph was the only Viking to draw multiple looks from Teddy Bridgewater, who targeted five different players on his six pass attempts. The addition of Mike Wallace increases the competition for Bridgewater's attention, but Rudolph should still have a key role in the offense if he can stay healthy.

Rudolph is participating in in this week's OTAs and says he's fully healthy after missing seven games last season due to hernia surgery, ankle and knee injuries, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "I'll tell you, what's even a better addition is have Kyle Rudolph back healthy," quaterback Teddy Bridgewater said. "He's like a whole new player on the team."
Rudolph missed six games last year after a sports hernia injury that required surgery and wasn't at full speed when he returned. He missed an additional game due to a knee and ankle injury. Rudolph could be a primary weapon in the Minnesota offense as offensive coordinator Norv Turner has an impressive track record with tight ends, but Rudolph needs to show he can stay healthy after missing nearly half his games the past two seasons.
Sun Dec 28 201411:37Rudolph (knee) active for Sunday's game against Bears
Rudolph (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Rudolph will suit up Sunday, though he won't be at full strength. Even against a vulnerable Bears pass defense, Rudolph's knee woes and inconsistent production make him a risky play.
Fri Dec 26 201416:00Rudolph (knee) questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago
Rudolph (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Rudolph was able to log just one practice this week, and that was only a limited showing Friday. He's not all that close to full strength and is a very risky fantasy consideration at the moment.
Wed Dec 24 201413:39Rudolph (knee/ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday
Rudolph (knee/ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Rudolph has yet to fit in a drill since landing on the injury report last Wednesday, which doesn't bode well for taking the field Sunday against the Bears. However, the Vikings haven't ruled him out from a game that will decided the cellar dweller of the NFC North, implying there's a chance he plays in Week 17.
Sun Dec 21 201411:32Rudolph (ankle/knee) inactive for Sunday's game against Dolphins
Rudolph (ankle/knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Rudolph will sit for the seventh time in 15 games this season. Chase Ford is expected to start in Rudolph's place.
Fri Dec 19 201415:48Rudolph (ankle/knee) doubtful for Sunday's game against Miami
Rudolph (ankle/knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Miami.
Injuries have made 2014 a mostly wasted season for Rudolph, which is discouraging since he has a history of injury troubles. Chase Ford should start with Rudolph likely sitting out Sunday.
Thu Dec 18 201420:36Rudolph (knee) didn't take part in practice Thursday
Rudolph (knee) didn't take part in practice Thursday, Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
After missing both practices to kick off the week, a warning light is currently flashing. Rudolph's activity level Friday will be telling for his Week 16 availability, but Teddy Bridgewater may only have tight ends Rhett Ellison and Chase Ford at his disposal Sunday in Miami.
Wed Dec 17 201420:09Rudolph (knee/ankle) didn't practice Wednesday
Rudolph (knee/ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Rudolph is coming off his best performance of the season -- seven receptions for 69 yards -- but an absence to start the week isn't exactly encouraging. However, his lack of activity may have been a precautionary measure, meaning upcoming injury reports could clear up his status in advance of Sunday's contest at Miami.

Rudolph had a season-high seven catches (on seven targets) for 69 yards in Sunday's loss at Detroit.
Rudolph had a couple of catches late in the game, with the Vikings trailing, but he still tied for the team lead in receptions and targets. After posting a season high in yardage Sunday, he might be starting to get healthier for next week's matchup at Miami.

Minnesota offensive coordinator Norv Turner said Rudolph lacks the explosiveness and the quickness he had before sports hernia surgery in late September, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "I don't think he'll be all the way back until we get into camp next year," Turner said.
Rudolph played 54 snaps on offense last week, so he's back to the playing levels he had before the surgery. However, he's averaging just over three targets per game since returning from surgery. He's more of a limited red zone threat than key part of the passing offense in his current condition.
Sun Dec 7 201411:40Rudolph (abdomen) active for Sunday's game against Jets
Rudolph (abdomen) is active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Rudolph is long recovered from his sports hernia but continues to get listed on the injury report. Despite limited production recently, the Jets have struggled covering pass-catching tight ends this season, and Rudolph is always a solid red-zone threat.
Fri Dec 5 201414:27Rudolph (abdomen) probable for Sunday's game against Jets
Rudolph (abdomen) is probable for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Rudolph saw three targets for two catches against Carolina last week, going for just seven yards but one touchdown. Rudolph remains the Vikings' most intuitive red-zone target among the pass catchers, but his yardage totals don't figure to be high on a predictable basis.
Thu Dec 4 201417:51Rudolph (abdomen) full participant in Thursday's practice
Rudolph (abdomen) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Rudolph was listed on the injury report last week, but fully practiced and was able to play so we'd expect the same outcome this week. Rudolph may not be at full strength the rest of the season after hernia surgery in September, but he could make an impact in the red zone as he had a four-yard touchdown last week.
