Helu had five carries for 22 yards and caught both of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Bears.
The Raiders have eased Helu back into action after a hamstring injury kept him out of the entire preseason, and the first few weeks of the regular season. He looks to be the clear back-up to Latavius Murray, and he'll likely see some solid time on third-downs. Helu has always been known as a good receiver out of the backfield, and he should be a nice boost to the Raiders' offense.

Helu is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Helu wasn't on on the Raiders' Week 1 injury report, but he'll evidently take a seat Sunday, which sets the stage for Taiwan Jones to back up Latavius Murray this weekend.

Helu is is listed third on the Raiders' initial regular-season depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Although he's listed behind starter Latavius Murray and converted defensive back Taiwan Jones, it won't be surprising if Helu gets most of the passing-down work, as was expected when he signed a two-year contract with the Raiders in the offseason. Helu suffered through an ineffective and injury-riddled preseason, but that ultimately shouldn't outweigh his solid work from his four-year tenure in Washington. That being said, it can't be assumed he'll lead the Oakland backfield in the event of a Murray injury.

Helu (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
Now that he's back in action, Helu slots in as a third-down/pass-catching back in the Raiders' offense behind Latavius Murray, who remains the favorite to start at RB for the team.

Helu (unspecified issue) did not practice Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With Helu and Michael Dyer sidelined Thursday, Trent Richardson handled second-team snaps behind Latavius Murray in his return to practice. Once he's back on the field, Helu slots in as a third-down/pass-catching back in the Raiders' offense behind Murray, the favorite to start at RB for the team.

Helu worked with the second-team offense as the Raiders started contact practices Sunday, Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Latavius Murray is the clear favorite to start, with Helu likely spelling him and getting a lot of the work on passing downs. Trent Richardson and a slew of young players will likely compete for one roster spot, but Helu probably won't face much of a challenge from any of the bunch. If Murray doesn't run with his opportunity, Helu may get a shot to lead the Oakland backfield.
Tue Mar 10 201521:20Roy Helu: Joins Oakland
Helu agreed to a two-year contract with the Raiders on Tuesday worth over $4 million, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
Helu will join Oakland after four years with the Redskins, providing a pass-catching, change-of-pace element to complement 6-foot-3 power back Latavius Murray. The Raiders' backfield combined for just 106 catches last season, 37 of which were hauled in by fullback Marcel Reece. Helu averaged 5.4 yards per carry in 2014 but only saw 40 attempts, with only seven attempts coming in his final five games.
Sun Dec 28 201412:24Helu active for Sunday's game versus Cowboys
Helu is active for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
A toe injury forced back-to-back DNPs in Weeks 15 and 16, but Helu will return to action as Washington's third-down back. At the very least, he should produce in the passing game, as he's averaged nearly three receptions per contest this season.
Sat Dec 20 201415:06Roy Helu: (Toe) Surprise Inactive
Helu (toe) is inactive for Saturday's game against Philadelphia.
Helu saw Silas Redd have a strong game as Washington's lead pass-catching back against the Giants last week, and perhaps Washington wants to give Redd a longer audition in the role. Still, assuming Helu suffered no setbacks, this is a fairly surprising development, as he was declared probable for this game. Alfred Morris remains the starter.
Fri Dec 19 201416:17Helu (toe) probable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia
Helu (toe) is probable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
Despite a good performance by Silas Redd last week, Helu should step back into his previously established role as Washington's top off-the-bench runner and pass-catching specialist in the backfield.
Thu Dec 18 201419:36Helu (toe) practiced fully both Wednesday and Thursday
Helu (toe) practiced fully both Wednesday and Thursday, the team's official site reports.
Helu thus appears on track to return to action Saturday against the Eagles, though in such a scenario he remains a dart in PPR formats.
Fri Dec 12 201412:50Helu (toe) officially out for Sunday's game against Giants
Helu (toe) is officially out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
After getting shut out last week against the Rams, Helu's toe injury will prevent him from suiting up for Week 15. Silas Redd will likely be the primary backup to Alfred Morris.
Mon Dec 8 201415:26Helu (toe) unlikely to play Sunday against Giants
Helu (toe) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Giants.
Helu, who finished Week 14's game against the Rams with no carries and no receptions, had provided some utility in deeper PPR formats at times this season, but he's off the fantasy radar in Week 15.

Helu left Sunday's game against the Rams with a toe injury and did not return.
Helu finished the game with no carries and no receptions. He's been a valuable pass-catcher out of the backfield for Washington, but his lack of involvement as a rusher largely limits his value to a flex play in PPR formats. No word yet on the severity of the injury.

Helu had one carry for five rushing yards and four catches on four targets for 61 receiving yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Colts.
Helu continues to be sparingly used in the running game, as his carry Sunday was his first since Week 9. And while it's not overly consistent, he has been making an impact in the passing game, scoring a receiving touchdown for the second time in the last three weeks. Based on his role, he's certainly more valuable in PPR leagues, and has a fairly limited impact in most standard leagues without the touchdowns.

Helu had six catches on six targets for 57 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Bucs, though he failed to get a carry and he fumbled twice, losing one.
Starting running back Alfred Morris had 20 carries for 96 yards and fellow backup Silas Redd had four carries for 16 yards, but Helu made up for it in the passing game for the second consecutive contest. Helu has only three carries for six yards in the last two games, but he's caught 10 passes on 11 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown over that span. However, a breakout performance appears unlikely in Week 12, as the Redskins will face off against a 49ers defense ranked fifth against the pass and seventh against the run this season.

Helu rushed three times for six yards and caught four passes on five targets for 45 yards Sunday.
Helu continues to play the third down back. Expect his rush attempts to be in the single digits with a few receptions each game.

Helu gained 29 yards on five carries and 14 yards on two receptions in Monday's 20-17 overtime win over the Cowboys.
Helu has recorded between 5 and 10 touches in all but one game this season, as he still doesn't get many carries behind Alfred Morris. He has the potential to work as a three-down back in the event of a Morris injury, but for the time being, most of Helu's value comes from whatever receptions he manages to scavenge.

Helu had five carries for 29 rushing yards and three catches for minus-nine receiving yards Sunday against the Titans.
Fantasy owners in PPR leagues could at least get a benefit from his three catches, but standard-league owners surely weren't impressed with a 20-yard outing Sunday. While Helu will get the occasional goal-line carry ahead of Alfred Morris, his touches are just too inconsistent to rely on in most fantasy leagues.

Helu rushed three times for 26 yards and caught two passes for 40 yards Sunday.
Helu remains a change of pace back and will see limited touches as long as Alfred Morris is healthy.
