Farris signed a minor league deal with the Twins on Tuesday that includes an invite to spring training, Darren Wolfson of 1500ESPN.com reports.
The invite to attend major league spring training seems like simply a courtesy, as Farris is a .272/.316/.355 career hitter at the Triple-A level and isn't likely to reach the majors next season. While he still has some speed, Farris hasn't played shortstop since joining the Twins organization in 2013 and the team already has several options in center.

Farris, 25, is batting .256/.308/.358 with six homers, 36 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 437 plate appearances with Triple-A Nashville this season. He will be added to the roster prior to Tuesday's game. The Brewers have zero depth in their infield right now, so look for them to add someone before the trade deadline.
