Fri Oct 9 201517:26Jones (foot) won't play Sunday against Broncos
Jones (foot) won't play Sunday against the Broncos, CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair reports.
While Jones' absence doesn't create much of a fantasy splash, it does represent a hit to both the Raiders' backfield and kick return depth.
Wed Oct 7 201517:46Jones (foot) missed practice Wednesday
Jones (foot) missed practice Wednesday, Scott Bair of CSNCalifornia.com reports.
Jones, who missed the Raiders' Week 4 matchup against the Bears, remains questionable for Week 5 after missing practice Wednesday due to the foot injury. Regardless of Jones' health, the Raiders have featured Latavius Murray all season. Even if Jones is able to return Sunday against the Broncos, it'll take an injury to Murray for Jones to have much fantasy relevance.
Sun Oct 4 201511:42Jones (foot) officially inactive for Sunday's game against Bears
Jones (foot) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Jones only has seven carries on the season, so this is not a big loss for the Raiders who will feature Latavius Murray as usual.

Jones (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Bay Area News Group reports.
Jones returned to a limited practice Friday, though his status is of more import to the Raiders' backfield depth than it is to fantasy owners, as long as top back Latavius Murray remains healthy.
Thu Oct 1 201519:34Jones (foot) did not practice Thursday
Jones (foot) did not practice Thursday, Bay Area News Group reports.
With just seven carries for 30 yards in three games to date, Jones is not a fantasy lineup option these days, but his name is one to file away since he continues to be listed as the Raiders' No. 2 RB behind top back, Latavius Murray.

Jones rushed for 16 yards on two carries in Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Browns.
Although Jones received just two carries to Latavius Murray's 26, it does suggest that he's still the primary backup for the Raiders offense. Jones will continue to see limited action as long as Murray stays healthy, but if Murray were to get hurt, Jones will immediately become a strong fantasy option at running back. Next up is a date with the Bears in Week 4.

Jones rushed for nine yards on two carries and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's Week 2 game against the Ravens.
Jones has been the primary back-up to Latavius Murray while the Raiders ease Roy Helu back into the mix. The 27-year old speedster played just 10 snaps to Murray's 56 on Sunday and only ended up with three touches. He's got the ability to turn any play into six points, but it looks like the Raiders are going to feed Murray in high volume as long as he's healthy. Barring any injuries, Jones will continue to see this sort of limited action moving forward.

Jones is listed second on the Raiders' initial regular-season depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Jones is somewhat surprisingly listed ahead of Roy Helu, who signed a two-year contract with Oakland in the offseason, presumably expecting to handle most of the passing-down work. Helu may still get a good chunk of those snaps, but it seems Jones, who switched back to running back in the offseason, may be the top backup to Latavius Murray for early downs. Selected as a running back in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Jones spent 2013 and 2014 playing cornerback.
Wed Apr 22 201511:36The Raiders plan to move Jones to running back
The Raiders plan to move Jones to running back, the team's official site reports.
Jones was originally drafted as a running back in 2011 before moving to cornerback in 2013. Now that he's healthy after missing 15 contests last season due to a foot injury, he'll provide the Raiders with RB depth and value as a special-teamer. Despite the position change, Jones is still off the fantasy radar, while working in a backfield that also rosters Latavius Murray, Trent Richardson, Roy Helu and fullback Marcel Reece.
Fri Sep 12 201416:32Jones (foot) will be placed on injured reserve by Raiders
Jones (foot) will be placed on injured reserve by the Raiders, CSN's Scott Bair reports.
In a corresponding move, the team plans to promote linebacker Bojay Filimoeatu from the team's practice squad. Jones' absence will be felt most on the Raiders' special teams.

Jones will miss 4-to-8 weeks due to the foot injury suffered in Week 1, Bill Williamson of ESPN.com reports.
With such a timetable, Jones may be a candidate for the IR/designated-to-return list. As long as he's sidelined, Maurice Jones-Drew will hold down the fort at running back, with Darren McFadden and Latavius Murray providing support.
Mon Sep 8 201420:09Jones (knee) expected to miss significant amount of time
Jones (knee) is expected to miss a significant amount of time, CSN Bay Area reports. "I would imagine that he would be out for some time," head coach Dennis Allen said.
Allen left Sunday's game against the Jets with a foot injury and did not return. While the team is yet to provide a timetable, it does not appear that he's slated to return any time soon, and it's possible a move to IR could be in his future.
Mon Jul 7 201418:36Taiwan Jones wants to play more corner in '14
Raiders special teamer Taiwan Jones wants to play more cornerback this season.
Jones played just ten defensive snaps in his first season as a full-time corner in 2013. He knows his main contributions will come on special teams, where he racked up a team-hgih 14 tackles, once again in 2014, but wants to become more complete. Jones inked a three-year contract extension in February.

Thu Aug 1 201322:55Taiwan Jones' transition to CB has been tough
Coach Dennis Allen says Taiwan Jones' transition from running back to cornerback has been "difficult."
"It's been a difficult transition for him," Allen said. "But when it comes down to the roster, he's one of the best special teams players in this league." Special teams is going to be Jones' ticket to a 53-man roster spot. If he sees the field on defense this season, the Raiders are in serious trouble.

Mon May 20 201313:52Taiwan Jones on roster bubble in Oakland
The San Francisco Chronicle's Vic Tafur observed at OTAs that RB-turned-CB Taiwan Jones will face a "steep uphill climb" to make the Raiders' 2013 roster.
Jones has enough size and speed for the transition, but he's a huge project as a third-year player already changing positions. We don't see Jones as a member of Oakland's five-deep at cornerback. He may not even make it to camp.

Fri Feb 22 201312:55Raiders to move Taiwan Jones to cornerback
GM Reggie McKenzie says Taiwan Jones will likely move from running back to cornerback this season.
McKenzie says it best fits Jones' "skill set." Jones played both positions early during his college career at Eastern Washington, but he hasn't played corner since 2008. Jones couldn't get on the field last year as a running back, even when Oakland was banged up in the backfield. The transition will be a huge project.

Fri Dec 7 201218:19Taiwan Jones open to position switch
Raiders RB Taiwan Jones says he'd be open to switching back to his college position of cornerback.
"I've thought about it a lot," Jones said Friday. Jones is buried at No. 4 on the Raiders' running back depth chart, but has excelled as a gunner on special teams. Although the lightning-quick Jones believes he could hold his own at corner, the odds of a potential switch being successful are low. Of course, Jones' future at corner doesn't appear any more dismal than his future at running back. The 2011 fourth-round pick has just 22 carries in 21 career games.

Taiwan Jones (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Bengals.
Jones was a late addition to the injury report this week and practiced on limited basis Friday. If active, he'll be used as a strict-backup to Marcel Reece. Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson have been ruled out and remain without a timetable for return.

Sun Nov 18 201220:39Taiwan Jones rushes three times in loss
Taiwan Jones rushed just three times for 13 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss to the Saints.
Jones briefly left the game in the first half with an ankle injury but returned and seemed fine. Jeremy Stewart saw two carries as well behind bell-cow back Marcel Reece. Jones is far from seeing meaningful snaps in Oakland.
