Wolf failed to get out of the second inning against the Twins on Sunday, giving up six runs, four of which were earned, on seven hits and a walk.
He has given up 46 hits and 25 earned runs (28 runs total) in 33.2 innings since his arrival in Detroit. It's fair to say he's been a placeholder in the Detroit lineup and at 39 is nearing the end of the line.

Wolf went 7.0 innings and allowed just three earned runs Monday night in the second half of a doubleheader against the White Sox. It was a stronger performance than his last few and he put his team in line for a win. Unfortunately, the offence came up short in a 3-2 loss.
On a brighter note, he gave up just five hits and struck out six. But he still allowed four walks in the loss -- it's the second straight game where he has allowed four free passes. His pitches looked a lot livelier than his past few outings, but it wasn't enough to get the win. Or to be fantasy relevant.

Wolf lasted just three innings and gave up two runs on four hits and four walks in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Indians. He didn't factor into the decision.
Remarkably, Wolf threw 93 pitches despite failing to make it out of the fourth inning. The veteran lefty is just a placeholder in the rotation while the Tigers play out the string on the season, so don't expect him to return to the organization in 2016.

Wolf was not effective in a no-decision Monday, allowing four runs in 4.1 innings against the Rays this Labor Day.
Wolf's last two starts have been disastrous, allowing 12 runs in eight innings. After two strong starts immediately following his promotion, Wolf has fallen off a cliff of late. His next start is slated for this weekend against the Indians.
Wed Sep 2 201523:20Wolf eviscerated by Royals on Wednesday
Wolf was eviscerated by the Royals on Wednesday. He lasted just 3.2 innings after giving up eight hits, including two home runs, eight earned runs and three walks. He took the loss.
The Tigers are out of it, so they might just keep trotting him out there. But that doesn't mean you should be doing the same, especially now that the fantasy postseason is upon us.

Wolf (0-2) had his best start since 2012 on Thursday, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks across seven innings in a 2-0 loss to the Angels. He struck out five.
Wolf made a few appearances last season for the Marlins, but has been out of Major League Baseball since 2012 aside from that. He has now gone seven inning in his first two starts for Detroit and looked strong in both efforts. Wolf may continue to garner starts as the injuries have been piling up for the Tigers' pitching staff and they have yet to fill a fifth start void that has been open all season. He'll look to continue his run of success against the Royals next Wednesday.

Wolf worked seven solid innings against the Rangers on Saturday, but he received no support from his offence and was charged with the loss. He gave up four runs on nine hits and struck out five. Three of the runs were earned.
It was just his fifth start in three years, but he left a decent impression in his Tigers' debut. There were a few shaky moments, but he maintained his focus and composure, and gave his team a shot at the win. Unfortunately, the Tigers didn't put up any runs until the ninth inning. Wolf may be a viable spot-start option, but we'd like to see a bit more before we commit.
Thu Aug 20 201517:34Randy Wolf: Traded To Detroit
Wolf was traded to the Tigers on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. He's been named the starter for Saturday's game against the Rangers.
In a fairly surprising move, the Tigers will bring in the 38-year-old, who has spent the entire season, to date, at Triple-A Buffalo. He's found great success at the Triple-A level, going 9-2 with a 2.58 ERA across 139.2 innings. The Tigers, having placed two starters on the DL on Thursday, will add him to the major league roster, and Wolf will get the call Saturday at home against Texas.

Wolf tossed a gem for Triple-A Buffalo, pitching 7.2 innings of shutout ball with nine strikeouts, five hits and one walk in Monday's victory over Syracuse.
Wolf is now 6-1 with a 2.72 ERA and has been a rock at the top of Triple-A Buffalo's pitching staff. Brought in on a flier during Spring Training, Wolf could be in line for a spot start in the majors if needed as the 38-year-old has logged more than 2,000 innings in the big leagues.

Wolf pitched seven shutout innings, conceding just four hits and a walk while striking out three in Triple-A Buffalo's 1-0 loss to Norfolk.
That's now three straight starts without giving up an earned run and 21 straight innings. An encouraging sign for Wolf is that this was his second start giving up fewer than three walks. If he can continue to throw strikes, Wolf may end up on the major league roster sooner rather than later.

Wolf pitched seven shutout innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
As the top starter for Triple-A Buffalo, Wolf is having a strong start to the year as he angles for a promotion to the big leagues. He's 3-0 with a 1.57 ERA and 17 strikeouts across 23 innings. The 38-year-old is a career 133 game winner, and while his best days are behind him, he may still have some gas in the tank as a spot starter for the Blue Jays if he gets called up at any point.
Mon Apr 6 201514:23Wolf will be first starter for Triple-A Buffalo
Wolf will be the first starter for Triple-A Buffalo, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
Wolf was signed to a minor league contract in March, but is not on the 40-man roster. He could be called up as the Blue Jays have had to bring their other starters (Daniel Norris and Aaron Sanchez) into the Opening Day rotation in the wake of Marcus Stroman's injury. Wolf has extremely limited fantasy value unless he gets called up. Even if he does find playing time with the Blue Jays, he is likely an unreliable fantasy option until he can establish himself as a consistent starting pitcher at the major league level again.
Mon Mar 16 201521:15Wolf signed minor league deal with Blue Jays on Monday
Wolf signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on Monday, Sportsnet reports.
The 38-year-old appeared in six games for the Marlins last season, posting a 5.26 ERA with 19 strikeouts and six walks over 25.2 innings. If he's able to prove he can still be effective at the major league level, Wolf will provide depth to a staff that recently lost Marcus Stroman (knee) for the season.
Sat Jul 26 201414:32Angles sign Randy Wolf to minor league deal
Angels signed LHP Randy Wolf to a minor league contract.
The veteran left-hander opted out of his contract with the Orioles earlier in the month after he wasn't promoted to the big leagues. He'll function as additional rotation depth for the Angels in the minor leagues.

Sun Jul 13 201418:00Randy Wolf opts out of minor league contract
LHP Randy Wolf opted out of his contract with the Orioles.
The veteran southpaw has been toiling at Triple-A Norfolk where he registered a 4.20 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 12/5 K/BB ratio over 15 innings. He should be able to latch on elsewhere if he so chooses.
