Tue Mar 8 201603:21F Tayshaun Prince scoreless in five minutes off bench on Monday
F Tayshaun Prince went scoreless in five minutes off the bench on Monday. He mssed his only field-goal attempt. He didn't even get off the bench in the second half. It marked the sixth straight game that Prince has gone scoreless, and it is particularly troubling because the Timberwolves desperately need some production off the bench. The 14-year-veteran, who started 44 games earlier in the season, is now averaging just 3.0 points.

G Tayshaun Prince did not play for personal reasons. He was in Detroit on Wednesday night to attend the jersey retirement ceremony of his former Pistons teammate Chauncey Billups. Zach LaVine started in Prince's place.

Prince will not play in Wednesday's preseason game due to a dental procedure.
It doesn't appear as if the procedure was anything serious, so Prince should be healthy when the regular season rolls around. The 35-year-old is expected to see some playing at small forward, albeit in a reserve role behind Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad.
Thu Aug 13 201514:02Prince signed with Timberwolves on Thursday
Prince signed with the Timberwolves on Thursday, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Prince will join the Timberwolves on a veteran's minimum deal, adding more depth on the wing to a young roster. Prince, who spent time with the Grizzlies, Celtics and Pistons last season, averaged 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for Detroit, where he finished the year. While Prince figures to be a part of the regular rotation for Minnesota, he'll likely play serve as a reserve behind Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad at small forward.

Prince spent time with the Grizzlies and Celtics before finishing the season with the Pistons, for whom he averaged 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 23 games.
Prince began the season in Memphis, where he played 26 games and made nine starts before being sent to Boston in the Jeff Green trade. He would only play nine games for the Celtics, coming to Detroit at the deadline in a deal that netted the Celtics Gigi Datome and Jonas Jerebko. Prince, who helped Detroit to a title in 2004, is somewhat of a shell of himself at age 35, but he was a solid outside threat off the bench, shooting 45 percent from three in the month of March. Prince enters the offseason an unrestricted free agent, and it's unclear what his future holds. He proved he can still provide shooting off the bench, but it seems unlikely he'd sign with a non-contending team this late in his career. Unless he opts for retirement, Prince will probably gauge interest this summer in hopes of signing on with a contender.
Mon Apr 13 201518:26Prince likely done for season
Prince is likely done for the season, David Mayo of MLive.com reports.
It sounds like Prince will be shut down for the final two games of the regular season, beginning with Monday's matchup against the Cavaliers. He doesn't appear to be dealing with an injury, so it's likely a move to get him some additional rest.

Prince scored 23 points 910-15 FG, 2-3 FT, 1-1 3Pt) to go with seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 27 minutes of action Friday against the Magic.
Prince's explosive performance came out of nowhere, as he had been scoring in single-digits four consecutive games prior. Still, those who happened to deploy him in daily contests can give themselves a pat on the back. However, it's not likely that he'll keep up any sort of fantasy value -- he's averaging just 6.9 points and 4.3 rebounds in March, in spite of the fact that he's seeing 25 minutes a game.
Wed Mar 18 201507:45Prince (hip) played 25 minutes Tuesday in win over Grizzlies
Prince (hip) played 25 minutes Tuesday in a win over the Grizzlies. He finished the game with 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist.
Prince was dealing with a hip pointer but played anyway. This was Prince's first game scoring in double figures since he joined the Pistons via trade. However, he's at least being effective, shooting 44.4 percent from beyond the arc so far this month.
Mon Mar 16 201514:23Prince dealing with hip pointer
Prince is dealing with a hip pointer, but is expected to play Tuesday, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Prince likely suffered the hip pointer in Saturday's tilt with the Jazz, but the issue appears minor enough for him to avoid missing time. He missed practice Monday, however, so his presence at shootaround Tuesday and the official designation should be monitored in case something more comes of the situation.

Prince came off the bench during Wednesday's loss to the Warriors, finishing with eight points (3-7 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and an assist in 24 minutes.
Prince moved to the bench, as the Pistons wanted to try Caron Butler in the starting lineup. Despite coming off the bench, Prince still played more minutes than Butler and had more production, so we'll have to wait and see what coach Stan Van Gundy decides to do for Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Prince started Tuesday against the Cavaliers and had seven points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, and two steals in 31 minutes in the loss.
Prince did not participate in the last two games after coming over from Boston. In his return to Detroit, he put up numbers similar to his season averages (with more minutes). He has limited fantasy value in anything but the deepest of leagues.
Tue Feb 24 201512:23Prince listed as starting small forward for Tuesday's game again...
Prince is listed as the starting small forward for Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers, Dave Pemberton of the Oakland Press reports.
As expected, Prince will make his season debut with the Pistons on Tuesday, and he'll supplant fellow-veteran Caron Butler in the starting lineup. Reports Monday suggested Prince will need to go through shootaround before an official decision on his status is made, but the fact that he's already listed as a starter is a solid indication that he'll take the floor. Prince hasn't been much of a fantasy contributor this season, but he strung together three straight double-digit scoring games at the end of January, proving that he can still be productive when given the opportunity.

Prince (trade) is expected to make his season debut with the Pistons on Tuesday, and coach Stan Van Gundy is planning on starting Prince at small forward over Caron Butler if Prince is comfortable during Tuesday's shootaround, the Pistons' official site reports.
Even if Prince starts the game, it's hard to imagine him carving out a big enough role to make him of use in standard fantasy leagues. He's simply not aggressive enough of a player on offense. Through 35 games played this season, Prince has averaged 7.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.6 three-pointers on 45 percent shooting from the field and 49 percent shooting from beyond the arc in 24 minutes per game. He's competent from beyond the arc (career 37 percent), but Prince isn't known as a gunner from deep, a trait that most wing players on the Pistons have.
Sun Feb 22 201514:10Prince will not play in Sundays's game against Wizards
Prince will not play in Sundays's game against the Wizards, The Washington Post reports.
Prince will have to put his return to the Pistons on hold for another game as coach Stan Van Gundy clarified before Sunday's game that the veteran will not take the court. His next opportunity to play will come against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
Sat Feb 21 201513:57Prince probably won't play in Sunday's game against Wizards
Prince probably won't play in Sunday's game against the Wizards, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Prince won't arrive in Detroit until Saturday night, and the Pistons don't have a pregame shootaround due to the 3:30 ET start time of Sunday's game. It's unclear what kind of role Prince will have once he's available.
Fri Feb 20 201512:39Prince could make Pistons debut on Sunday against Wizards
Prince, who was traded from the Celtics on Thursday, could make his Pistons debut on Sunday against the Wizards, Dave Pemberton of the Oakland Press reports.
It's unclear what kind of role Prince will have in his return to the Motor City, but with Kyle Singler headed out of town, there's little question the Pistons could use help on the wing. Caron Butler is expected to start Friday's game against the Bulls.
Thu Feb 19 201517:49Prince traded to Detroit on Thursday
Prince was traded to Detroit on Thursday, the Detroit News reports.
Prince has spent time with the Grizzlies and Celtics this season, and he'll rejoin a Pistons franchise with which he won a title in 2004. The Pistons sent Gigi Datome and Jonas Jerebko to Boston in the deal. Prince will likely come off the bench to serve primarily as a wing defender, though his outside shooting has picked up of late.

Prince played 18 minutes off the bench after returning from his hip ailment, scoring eight points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Prince will continue to play minimal minutes of the Celtics' bench and has limited appeal in most leagues, although any getting regular minutes has some appeal in the deepest of leagues.
Fri Feb 6 201519:07Prince (hip) will not play against Sixers on Friday
Prince (hip) will not play against the Sixers on Friday, CSN New England reports.
Prince said he's at about 85 percent healthy, so there's certainly a chance he'll take the court against the Bucks on Saturday.

Prince (hip) is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Sixers, CSN New England reports.
Prince has been off the court since January as he continues to deal with a hip flexor injury. If he's unable to play Friday, his next opportunity to get on the court will be against the Bucks on Saturday.
