Sun Sep 28 201422:06Derek Jeter: Finishes Career with 3,465 Hits
Jeter went 1-for-2 with an RBI single before being removed in the third inning of the Yankees' 9-5 win over the Red Sox on Sunday. The hit was the 3,465th of his career and increased his career batting average to .310.
Jeter's 20-year career ended on a high note, knocking in a run on an infield single in a win against the division-rival Red Sox. He finishes with the most hits in franchise history, while trailing only Pete Rose (4,256), Ty Cobb (4,189), Hank Aaron (3,771), Stan Musial (3,630) and Tris Speaker (3,514) for the most hits in baseball history.
Sun Sep 28 201410:33Derek Jeter: (Hamstring) In Sunday's Lineup
Jeter (hamstring) is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
Jeter may or may not have suffered a minor hamstring injury Saturday, but he will still be in the lineup for the final game of his career Sunday. Given both of those items, it would not be a surprise if he was removed from Sunday's game at some point prior its conclusion.
Sat Sep 27 201417:16Derek Jeter: Status For Final Game In Question
Jeter may have tweaked his hamstring during Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Bob Klapisch of The Record reports.
Jeter's injury does not appear serious, but it could prevent him from playing Sunday. Manager Joe Girardi said he will leave that decision up to Jeter, so expect the Yankees' lineup to reveal whether or not Jeter will play.
Sat Sep 27 201410:40Derek Jeter: Back In The Lineup
Jeter is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York reports.
Jeter was expected to play Saturday, and he will do just that after sitting out Friday. Jeter will serve as the designated hitter and bat second in the penultimate game of his lengthy career.
Fri Sep 26 201418:27Jeter will DH both Saturday and Sunday against Red Sox
Jeter will DH both Saturday and Sunday against the Red Sox, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
He said that if it were against any other team, he may have sat out the final series of his career, as he had a storybook finish Thursday in his final home game at Yankee Stadium. Those worried about missing more than just Friday's game from the Yankee captain can now rest easy.
Fri Sep 26 201416:40Jeter will not play Friday against Red Sox
Jeter will not play Friday against the Red Sox, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports.
Jeter's final game at Yankee Stadium couldn't have been scripted any better, as he went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI, including the game-winner off the Orioles' Evan Meek. It seems he is emotionally drained, as Jeter will not even be an option to pinch-hit Friday, but he did say he will play in some capacity this weekend. Brendan Ryan will man short in Jeter's absence.

Jeter had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday, as the Yankees won 6-5 against the Orioles. He finished the game 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Jeter provided lots of drama during the final home at-bat of his career, singling off of Evan Meek to score pinch-runner Antoan Richardson from second base. He also had an RBI double in the first inning. The veteran shortstop has been hitting well this week, so he might be worth a shot over the weekend at Fenway Park, if you're looking to pick up a hitter.

Jeter went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one double and one walk Monday against the Orioles.
Jeter is on fire during the final home stand of his career as he is 9-for-20 with one home run, six RBI and three doubles. He is trying to end his career on a high note and might provide fantasy owners with a boost at shortstop over the final week of his career.
Sun Sep 21 201412:00Derek Jeter: Could Start Final Eight Games
Jeter could play in all of the Yankees' eight remaining games, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
With Jeter's career nearing an end, and him heating up again following a long slump, he could play every day the rest of the way. He may serve as the designated hitter in a few contests, but it looks like fantasy owners, and fans hoping to see him off, can count on him being a regular in the lineup the rest of the way.
Thu Sep 18 201422:34Jeter 2-4 with solo homer in Thursday's 3-2 win over Toronto
Jeter went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 3-2 win over Toronto.
Jeter, who ended an 0-for-26 slump Wednesday, smacked his fourth home run of the season off of knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. With just 10 days left in the season, it's quite possible that Thursday's homer will end up being the last long ball of Jeter's career.
Mon Sep 15 201415:43Jeter not in lineup Monday against Rays
Jeter is not in the lineup Monday against the Rays, Sweeny Murti of WFAN reports.
In the midst of an 0-for-24 slump, Jeter will concede shortstop duties to Brendan Ryan, who will bat ninth.
Sun Sep 14 201412:13Jeter's elbow remains sore after being hit by pitch on Thursday
Jeter's elbow remains sore after being hit by pitch on Thursday, but it won't keep him out of the lineup, MLB.com reports.
Jeter reported no issues with his elbow after returning to game action. Manager Joe Girardi said he'll still likely sit some games out down the stretch, but those would be more part of giving him regular days off rather than to rest his sore elbow.
Fri Sep 12 201418:22Jeter (elbow) back in lineup for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader...
Jeter (elbow) is back in the lineup for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
An errant Brad Boxberger pitch plunked Jeter near his elbow Thursday, but it seems the 40-year-old escaped with just a bruise. He'll return to short and the two-hole in the order after sitting out the first game of the twin bill.

Jeter is not in the lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, ESPN New York reports.
Jeter will take a seat Friday afternoon, conceding the starting shortstop spot to Brendan Ryan. It's unclear whether the veteran will be available for the nightcap, but if he remains out, Ryan will likely be called upon again.
Sat Aug 23 201410:25Jeter out of lineup Saturday against White Sox
Jeter is out of the lineup Saturday against the White Sox, Newsday's Erik Boland reports.
With an early afternoon game on tap following a night game Friday, manager Joe Girardi will rest the 40-year-old Jeter and instead turn to Stephen Drew to man short against right-hander Scott Carroll. Jeter's .533 OPS in August is his lowest in any month this season, but there's no doubt the Yankees will continue to give the future Hall of Famer regular time over the final weeks of the season.
Sat Aug 9 201419:27Derek Jeter: Sixth on All-Time Hits List
Jeter singled Saturday against the Indians to pass Honus Wagner for sixth on the all-time hits list with 3,431.
Passing Wagner also means Jeter has more hits than any shortstop in baseball history. Jeter, who has 115 hits this season, is 84 behind Tris Speaker for fifth place, which is probably out of reach.
Thu Aug 7 201410:27Derek Jeter: Sitting Thursday
Jeter is out of the Yankees' lineup Thursday against the Tigers, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
This looks like nothing more than a routine day off for the 40-year-old Jeter, with an early afternoon game on tap following a night game. Deadline acquisition Stephen Drew will move over to shortstop in his absence, with Brendon Ryan manning the keystone against right-hander Rick Porcello. Jeter has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, posting a .347 average over that span.
Mon Jul 28 201423:23Jeter passes Yaz on hits list; Wagner next
Derek Jeter went 3-for-4 on Monday to pass Carl Yastrzemski for seventh place all-time on the hits list.
Jeter finished tonight's game with 3,420 hits, officially leaving him 10 shy of Honus Wagner in sixth place at 3,430 (Baseball-reference has Wagner at 3,420, which is probably more accurate, but MLB uses Elias for its stats). Jeter also walked and stole a base tonight, making this one of his best games of the season (especially since he was facing Yu Darvish). It's his fifth three-hit game of the year.

Fri Jul 18 201421:59Jeter has two hits, two runs scored in win
Derek Jeter went 2-for-4 with two runs scored Friday against the Reds.
Jeter singled to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning before Jacoby Ellsbury put the Yankees ahead with a two-run home run. The Captain hasn't had the smoothest ride in his swan song, but he has four multi-hit games in his last six. He's batting .275/.326/.325 over 84 games.

Tue Jul 15 201423:44Jeter goes 2-for-2 in final All-Star Game
Derek Jeter went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored a run Tuesday in his final All-Star Game.
Jeter doubled to right field to kick off the bottom of the first inning before scoring on a Mike Trout triple. He then had a bloop single to right field in the third inning before eventually being removed on defense in the fourth to a standing ovation. Jeter also nearly made a terrific play on defense to start off the game, making a diving stop on an Andrew McCutchen grounder before 'Cutch narrowly beat the throw at first. He could have easily been named MVP in a symbolic gesture, but it was probably even more symbolic to see Mike Trout win the award as a sort of passing of the torch to the new generation of players.
