F Cory Jefferson was signed to a 10-day contract, the Phoenix Suns announced. Jefferson was with the Suns earlier this season and averaged 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in six games. He was waived on Jan. 7.

Jefferson has agreed to a training camp deal with the Suns, AZCentral reports.

Jefferson played one season for the Nets before getting jettisoned into free agency when he was waived in July. He played in 50 games last season, averaging 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks in 11 minutes per game. While the Suns have two open roster spots, even if Jefferson proves his worth in training camp, he'd be a long way away from being relevant in standard fantasy leagues.

Jefferson was waived by the Nets on Monday, Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders reports.

Jefferson would have received guaranteed money if he wasn't waived by Wednesday, so the Nets decided to let him go and move on. Jefferson dealt with some tendinitis issues in his left ankle during the 2015 NBA Summer League, but he'll still likely receive an invite to some team's training camp as the season approaches. Even if he makes a team heading into the season, he likely won't provide much in terms of fantasy value. As a rookie for the Nets, Jefferson posted averages of 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds over 11 minutes per game.

Jefferson sat out Tuesday's summer league game against the Hornets due to tendinitis in his left ankle, the New York Post reports. He has been listed as day-to-day.

Jefferson started at power forward in the Nets' first two games of the summer league, averaging 6.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.5 blocks, and 0.5 steals in 18 minutes per game. After a shaky 2014-15 campaign in which he rode the bench and was sent to the D-League for multiple games, Jefferson will look to further develop the skill set that made him the go-to big man at Baylor in 2013.

Jefferson appeared in 50 games for the Nets as a rookie, making one start and averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10.6 minutes.

The Baylor product was selected with the final pick of the 2014 draft, and he made the Nets final roster out of training camp. Jefferson began the season glued to the bench before cracking the rotation in early December. He played double-digit minutes in seven straight games from Dec. 5 through Dec. 17 but would return to a deep bench shortly thereafter. On New Year's Day, Jefferson was assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the D-League, for whom he averaged 10.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in two games. Upon his return to Brooklyn, he was in and out of the rotation, seeing more than 20 minutes just once in the season's second half. Come playoff time, Jefferson was moved back out of the rotation, failing to play a single minute in Brooklyn's six-game defeat at the hands of the Hawks. Entering the second year of his rookie deal, Jefferson's contract will be only partially guaranteed. It seems likely he'll remain with the Nets next season, but if the team makes significant changes and a roster spot needs to be opened up, Jefferson could be among the first casualties.

Jefferson is listed as inactive for Game 3 against Atlanta, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN.com reports.

Jefferson has not logged a minute this far in Brooklyn's series with Atlanta and will be inactive Saturday. Earl Clark has been activated after being inactive for Game 2.

Jefferson had 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-4 FT) and 13 rebounds - both career highs - in 16 minutes in the overtime loss to the Suns on Friday.

Jefferson had a career game and made the most of his minutes. The rookie from Baylor has averaged 15.0 minutes in his last two games after not playing in the two previous games. He was a high-volume rebounder in college and may just need an opportunity to show his ability to grab boards.

Jefferson is expected to see a bump in minutes with the loss of Mirza Teletovic (illness) for the rest of the season, the New York Daily News reports. "Next man up. That's Cory Jefferson," said coach Lionel Hollins on Saturday.

Jefferson is averaging 11 minutes on the court over just 11 games this season. However, Teletovic was averaging 22.3 minutes per game this season so there's certainly some room for Jefferson to move into the rotation moving forward. Although, it's important to realize that Jefferson's potential workload won't likely be enough to vault him into standard league relevancy, but he may end up being serviceable in deeper leagues by the end of the season.

Jefferson scored seven points (2-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with four rebounds and a block in 24 minutes off the bench Monday.

Kevin Garnett's ejection for head-butting Dwight Howard allowed Jefferson to see significant court time, and should Garnett face any sort of suspension Jefferson could continue to see more run than expected in the short term. Don't expect a lot of production, especially with the Grizzlies coming to Brooklyn on Wednesday, but Jefferson could have a little value in deep leagues.

Jefferson was recalled from the D-League on Thursday, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.

Jefferson spent a week with the Maine Red Claws and will rejoin the Nets, for whom he's appeared in 15 games this season. The rookie out of Baylor has potential to be a dependable rebounder, but the rest of his game, especially the offensive end, is a work in progress.

The Baylor product has appeared in 15 games for the Nets this season, averaging 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per game. He'll make his first trip to the D-League, where he'll be able to see starter's minutes with the Maine Red Claws.

Jefferson moved back into a limited bench role Tuesday with Kevin Garnett (foot) active and back in the starting lineup.

Jefferson made a spot start in the Nets' last game on Saturday. He put up 11 points and five rebounds in 23 minutes Saturday, but in his move back to the bench Tuesday, Jeffson put up four points and two rebounds in 10 minutes. When the team is at full health, he is of little use in fantasy, but Jefferson's presence on a team full of habitually-injured frontcourt players makes him a potential daily-games play on a given night.

Jefferson will start Saturday against the Hornets, ESPNNewYork.com reports.

Kevin Garnett has been ruled out with a foot injury, opening the door for Jefferson to make his first career start. Jefferson didn't do a whole lot on the offensive end in 28 minutes against Philadelphia on Friday, notching six points on 3-of-7 shooting, though he did bring down seven rebounds and block three shots.

Jefferson is averaging just 2.3 minutes on the court over the four games that he's played in this season.

Jefferson is currently one of the last options off the bench for coach Lionel Hollins. Unless he makes strides in his game over the course of the season, the 23-year-old will likely be stuck on the pine during Brooklyn's 2014-15 campaign.
