Thu Feb 17 2011 | 12:11 | Riske impressing early on at O's camp |
David Riske has been impressive early on in Orioles camp. |
Riske has made just 24 big league appearances the last two seasons due to injury, but he's thrown back-to-back terrific bullpen sessions. "I'm a little surprised he's as far along as he is," manager Buck Showalter said. The 34-year-old appears to be a very early favorite to land one of the final spots in the Orioles bullpen. |

David Riske (elbow) has had his rehab assignment transferred from High-A Brevard County to Triple-A Nashville. |
Good news. Riske, who is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery, has allowed five runs -- four earned -- over three appearances with the Manatees, good enough for a 9.00 ERA. All five runs scored in one of the outings, so he's been pretty solid otherwise. He has a chance to contribute with the big club by mid-season. |
