The Brewers expect Tim Dillard to make their Opening Day roster.
"He's got a good chance to make our bullpen," manager Ron Roenicke said. "What I see of him, I really like what he's doing. He can get a strikeout on a really good hitter and that shows me something. He's really nasty if he can do that.'' Dillard has a 3.38 ERA in two appearances this spring, and has enough of a track record with the Brewers to be used in a middle relief role. The 28-year-old posted a 24/4 K/BB ratio in 24 appearances last season.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is considering putting Tim Dillard into more high-leverage situations.
Dillard has posted a 1.86 ERA, 0.52 WHIP and 10/0 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings since being recalled in mid-May. "The way he's throwing, if he's this good, he's going to be in some late (close) ball games," said Roenicke. "He has been really good." A side-armer, Dillard has even been effective against left-handed batters to this point, holding them to a .133 average.

Dillard will replace the injured Brandon Kintzler on the active roster. The 27-year-old right-hander has a 3.51 ERA and 22/11 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings with the Sounds this season. He hasn't pitched in the majors since the 2009 season.
