Memphis Grizzlies guard Jordan Adams is undergoing cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee.The Grizzlies announced the transplant was being performed Wednesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York by Dr. Riley Williams.Adams, 21, underwent a lateral meniscectomy on the same knee last August after sustaining a partially torn meniscus during an offseason workout.Adams was sidelined for most of the summer and limited in training camp. He returned to play for a short period before suffering an unrelated injury to the articular cartilage in his right knee. Adams subsequently underwent a debridement surgery on Jan. 12.Following that surgery, Adams participated in a lengthy rehab program -- extending through the second half of the 2015-16 season -- in an effort to resume basketball activities. Adams underwent minor right knee surgery on Friday, the Commercial Appeal reports.

Adams struggled throughout summer league, and this may have been the root of the problem. There is no timeline for recovery, but considering it was deemed minor, he should be fine by the start of training camp.

Adams averaged 16.0 points (34% FG, 18% 3Pt, 90% FT), 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 2.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 33 minutes per game during four games at the Orlando Summer League.

Adams started all four games, and though he struggled with his shot, he got to the free throw line enough to salvage his stat lines. Having struggled with turnovers in the past, it was nice to see him average just 1.5 giveaways a game, but he gambled a lot on the other end, and looked disinterested at times defensively. In a crowded wing rotation, Adams still has work to do if he's hoping to earn the nod over the veterans ahead of him on the Grizzlies' depth chart.

Adams averaged 3.1 points (40.7 FG, 40.0 3Pt, 60.9 FT), 0.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks in 8 minutes per game during 30 regular season games.

The rookie appeared in four playoff games, averaging 1.8 points (66.7 FG, 100.0 3Pt, 50.0 FT), 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 steals in 3 minutes per game. Adams didn't have much luck cracking Grizzlies' coach Dave Joerger's regular rotation, but he did get the chance to develop his game some playing for the team's D-League affiliate. In 11 games with the Iowa Energy Adams averaged 18.1 points (46.2 FG, 38.8 3Pt, 79.5 FT), 6.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.5 blocks in 32 minutes per game. Expect him to see considerable playing time in the summer league as he looks to improve and earn more time in his sophomore season.

Adams played one minute and recorded one steal in the Grizzlies' 100-86 win versus the Blazers on Sunday.

Tony Allen (hamstring) was back in action, and coach Dave Joerger opted to go with veteran Vince Carter for 14 minutes. The fact that Adams saw only one minute despite the Grizzlies' convincing lead means his minutes in the playoffs will likely be limited at best.

Adams scored 19 points (6-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT) with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes off the bench Monday.

It's the first time since early March he's scored in double digits, so don't expect a repeat from Adams in the Grizzlies' regular season finale against the Pacers on Wednesday.

Adams contributed 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one block and one steal in 23 minutes during the Grizzlies' 93-82 loss versus the Jazz on Tuesday.

Adams hadn't seen double digit minutes since back in January. With Tony Allen (suspension) set to return for Wednesday's game versus the Rockets Adams is highly unlikely to match Tuesday's load of minutes. Coach Dave Joerger has never been fond of playing rookies all that much, and one solid shooting night from the 20-year-old Adams is not likely to change that.

Adams logged five minutes of action during Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

Adams is one of the last options off the bench in Memphis and that won't likely change at any point this season. In fact, he has served stints in the D-League this year and will likely do the same when play resumes after the All-Star break.

Adams (ankle) was recalled by the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Adams will rejoin the Grizzlies after shaking off his ankle injury during almost 23 minutes of action for the Iowa Energy on Saturday. Despite returning to health, Adams is not expected to see significant time on the court with Memphis this season.

He will go back to the Iowa Energy as his back-and-forth rookie season continues. Adams should be recalled by Memphis at some point again this season, but he is unlikely to be a major part of the rotation at any point as a rookie.

He's now missed several games in a row, and should be considered questionable to play on Sunday versus the Hawks. However, even if he is healthy enough to suit up there are simply too many talented wings on the Grizzlies for him to earn sufficient time as a rookie.

Adams (ankle) did not play Wednesday, and his status for Friday's game is up in the air.

Regardless of Adams' health status, the rookie is unlikely to play relevant minutes on the Grizzlies this season, taking him out of consideration for rostering in standard leagues. He's a somewhat interesting stash to have in dynasty leagues, but other than that, Adams should be an afterthought in most leagues this season.

Adams (ankle) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Adams is battling a sore right ankle, but it's no guarantee that he would play, even at full health. The rookie out of UCLA was a DNP-CD on Monday and saw time in only seven games in January.

Adams could have a chance to earn more regular rotation minutes since Vince Carter is dealing with a left foot tendon injury.

Adams has now played in nine of the Grizzlies' last 20 games after appearing in only four of the first 26 games this season. Though Adams is unlikely to have much value this season, Carter's nearly 17 minuets per game has to be played by someone, and the aging legend will not be rushed back, as the goal is to have V.C. fully healthy for the playoff run. Coach Dave Joerger has shown he is willing to trot out two-point guard lineups featuring some combination of Mike Conley, Beno Udrih and Nick Calathes, so it's possible Adams will for the most part remain buried on the Grizzlies' bench. However, Adams' size, three-point shooting and defense could help him earn some of Carter's minutes, and the Grizzlies could view this as a good opportunity to give Adams a few more meaningful NBA minutes and ultimately help his development going forward.

Adams was recalled from Iowa of the D-League on Monday, Chris Herrington of the Memphis Commercial-Appeal reports.

The rookie out of UCLA has appeared in 10 games for Iowa this season, averaging 19.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 33 minutes. He has the potential to be a rotational player down the road but is not likely to hold much fantasy value this season.

The Grizzlies have a lot of depth on the wing, and while Adams has the potential to one day be a solid NBA scorer off the bench, the team is in win-now mode and he will continue to be given opportunities for more playing time in the D-League.

Adams scored 12 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and grabbed one rebound in seven minutes of action during the Grizzlies' 114-85 loss versus the Nuggets on Saturday.

The rookie has not been able to carve out consistent time with the Grizzlies, and has bounced back and forth between the NBA and the D-League this year as he continues to work on his game. In eight NBA games Adams is averaging 3.4 points (58.8 FG, 60.0 3Pt, 66.7 FT), 0.9 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.3 blocks in eight minutes per game.

Adams was recalled by the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Adams has continually bounced back and forth from Iowa and Memphis this season. He only has made four appearances for the Grizzlies this year and won't likely be used too often in this most recent stint at the NBA level.

Adams has bounced back and forth from the D-League and the NBA all season long. Considering that the rookie has played in four games for the Grizzlies this season, he's more than likely headed to the Iowa Energy to get some on-court experience since he'd be sitting on the bench in Memphis.
