Tue Oct 13 201514:26Tyrod Taylor: Could miss time with MCL sprain
Taylor (knee) may miss multiple games due to a sprained MCL, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
Taylor suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 14-13 win over the Titans on a horse-collar tackle at the end of one of his impressive scrambles. He only missed one snap and threw the game-winning touchdown shortly thereafter, but he's likely dealing with some swelling in the affected knee. If Taylor misses any time, which wouldn't be surprising, E.J. Manuel would take over as the starting quarterback. Taylor has been a top-five quarterback in most formats through five weeks, but Manuel doesn't have the running skills to produce in a similar fashion.
Tue Oct 13 201513:35Tyrod Taylor: Hurting coming out of Week 5
Taylor "is hurt pretty bad," according to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News, which leaves his status for Week 6 uncertain.
The cryptic report leaves out many important details, but the Bills did sign a quarterback -- journeyman Josh Johnson -- Tuesday after going with just two quarterbacks last week, so it would seem they have at least some concern about Taylor's health, and want to ensure they have two healthy quarterbacks heading into Week 6. Taylor did run for a season-high 76 yards last week, but it appears he is still be feeling the effects of the ankle injury he suffered in Week 3. Be sure to keep tabs on Taylor's status over the next few days if you are considering using him in your starting lineup this weekend.

Taylor completed 10-of-17 passes for just 109 yards and a touchdown, but added a team-leading 76 rushing yards and another score on eight carries in Sunday's 14-13 victory over the Titans.
The Bills offense as a whole struggled mightily throughout this one, but Taylor's ability to create with his legs ultimately propelled the team to victory. Taylor finished under 200 yards passing for the first time since Week 1, but salvaged his day with a resurgent effort on the ground. The quarterback's ability as a runner makes him the surest bet for production in an otherwise inconsistent Buffalo offense.

Taylor (ankle) completed 28-of-42 passes for 274 yards with one touchdown and one interception Sunday against the Giants. He also rushed six times for 15 yards.
Taylor connected with nine different receivers as tight end Charles Clay led the way with nine catches on 13 targets for 111 yards. Clay also had a touchdown grab that was canceled out due to a penalty on the offensive line. The Bills really shot themselves in the foot Sunday by racking up 17 penalties, two of which negated touchdowns. Taylor's streak of passing for at least three touchdowns ended at two, but he's passed for at least 270 yards in back-to-back outings, a fairly solid output without top wideout Sammy Watkins. Up next is a trip to face the Titans in Week 5.
Sun Oct 4 201511:42Taylor (ankle) active for Sunday's game against Giants
Taylor (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Taylor's status for Sunday's game was never truly in question, as he was a full participant all week in practice despite a minor ankle injury. The bigger issue for Taylor may be a lack of options to throw to, as receivers Sammy Watkins (calf) and marquise Goodwin (ribs) have both been ruled out for the contest, as has pass-catching running back LeSean McCoy (hamstring). Taylor at least has a favorable matchup, as the Giants are ranked dead last in the league in passing yards allowed per game (335.7) over the first three weeks.
Fri Oct 2 201515:03Taylor (ankle) probable for Sunday's game against Giants
Taylor (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Though Taylor suffered a minor ankle injury in last week's win over the Dolphins, he practiced fully this week and is set to play Sunday, which is more than can be said of running back LeSean McCoy and wideout Sammy Watkins, who are both ruled out this weekend. Mind you, Taylor put up gaudy numbers in Week 3 despite limited contributions from the aforementioned duo, and given that he'll be taking aim Sunday at a Giants' defense that has allowed a league-high 335.7 yards per game in the air, he looks like a viable option for Week 4 fantasy lineups.

Taylor suffered a minor ankle injury in last week's victory over the Dolphins.
Taylor was able to finish last week's game despite suffering the injury, and head coach Rex Ryan did not seem concerned about Taylor's status moving forward. However, the setback could have played a role in him rushing for only 12 yards last week, and it could be a factor again in Week 4 if he is still not 100 percent come game day.

Taylor (chest) completed 21 of 29 passes for 277 and three touchdowns in Sunday's easy win over Miami. He did not throw an interception or get sacked.
Taylor's performance through three games is probably better than anyone was expecting when he beat out Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel for the starting role. Through three games, Taylor has thrown seven TD passes while rushing for 96 yards, while putting together a 116.1 passer rating. He'll face the Giants next week, while seemingly having a firm hold on the starting job. The only negative thing was that Sammy Watkins left the game Sunday with a calf injury, and did not return.

Taylor completed 23 of 30 passes for 242 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing five times for 43 yards and another score during Sunday's 40-32 loss to the Patriots.
The Bills were overmatched for much of the game, scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter before their comeback fell short. Taylor connected with eight different receivers, throwing his touchdowns to Robert Woods, Sammy Watkins and Charles Clay. While the three interceptions surely hurt, it was a huge performance in fantasy formats that don't penalize turnovers. Taylor's job is far from in jeopardy, and he'll look to cut down the turnovers in Week 3 at Miami.

Taylor completed 14-of-19 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown, and added 41 rushing yards on nine carries in Sunday's win over the Colts.
Taylor executed the offensive gameplan to a tee, presenting enough of a passing threat to let head coach Rex Ryan's ground-and-pound approach wear down the Colts defense. His 51-yard bomb to Percy Harvin for the game's opening score set the tone early, and Taylor did a great job managing the offense after that. The Bills won't ask Taylor to win games for them on his own, but his rushing ability makes him an intriguing fantasy option moving forward.

Coach Rex Ryan has confirmed that Taylor has been named the Bills' starting quarterback.
While Taylor's ascension to the team's No. 1 QB job had already been widely reported earlier Monday, the coach eventually confirmed the news, noting with regard to the call that he's "100 percent confident and we as an organization are 100 percent confident in the decision." Meanwhile, Ryan maintains that the Bills plan to keep three quarterbacks, which means that either EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel or Matt Simms is a candidate to be sent packing by the team before 53-man rosters are finalized.

Both ESPN.com and NFL.com have confirmed that the Bills plan to start Taylor in Week 1 against the Colts.
Though the Bills have yet to publicly confirm the decision, possibly in the name of gamesmanship, multiple credible sources now relay that Taylor has won the team's starting job over EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel. Meanwhile, it's unclear who is in line to serve as Taylor's top backup in Week 1, but either way, the 26-year-old Virginia Tech product now merits fantasy consideration thanks to his mobility, with his overall upside on that front now resting in his ability to develop and maintain chemistry with the Bills' solid collection of pass-catching weapons.
Mon Aug 31 201511:45Tyrod Taylor: Reportedly Named Bills' Starter
According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Bills plan to go with Taylor as their starting quarterback.
While the Bills have not yet publicly confirmed their Week 1 QB plans, it appears as though they will roll with Taylor, who had been competing with Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel for the assignment. From a fantasy perspective, Taylor is a speculative option, but his mobility adds a degree of intrigue/upside on that front.
Sat Aug 29 201520:11Tyrod Taylor: Ryan Will Make QB Decision Sunday But Won't Announce It
Bills head coach Rex Ryan said he will make a decision on his starting quarterback Sunday but will not announce it publicly, NFL.com's Albert Breer reports.
Taylor and E.J. Manuel both impressed in Saturday's preseason win over the Steelers, and while the latter may have put his name back into the conversation, Taylor is likely still the favorite. Matt Cassel also can't be ruled out, but he was easily outplayed by Taylor this preseason. Bills head coach Rex Ryan said that No. 4 QB Matt Simms will likely play all four quarter of the final exhibition game, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.
Sat Aug 29 201519:32Tyrod Taylor: Impresses In Blowout Win
Taylor completed 12 of 13 passes for 122 yards, adding one carry for a 20-yard touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.
Taylor seemingly took a step toward winning the starting job, as Matt Cassel turned in a nondescript performance, completing six of his seven passes for 38 yards. E.J. Manuel impressively completed seven of eight passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns, but the former first-round pick probably needs more than one great preseason showing to make up significant ground on Taylor and Cassel. All three quarterbacks got work with the first-team offense, which was missing its top four wide receivers and four of its top five running backs. Taylor seems to have the lead in Buffalo's QB competition, but head coach Rex Ryan has made it quite clear that he's in no rush to name a starter.

Taylor completed 7 of 10 passes for 65 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions during the first half of Thursday's preseason win over Cleveland. He also rushed four times for 40 yards.
Taylor looked decent, though neither offense really moved the ball all that well in this one. He probably didn't do anything to win the starting job, but didn't lose any ground either. Matt Cassel didn't play on this one, while EJ Manuel rallied after a slow start to lead the Bills to a comeback win. Consider the starting job race still a dead heat between Cassel and Taylor, with Manuel trying to get work his way back up the pecking order.

Taylor was the first QB in Sunday's practice rotation, followed by Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel, in that order.
Meanwhile, ESPN.com notes that Taylor is in line to start Thursday's game against the Browns and will be replaced by Cassel. In this past Friday's preseason opener, Cassel started, while Taylor played through the second quarter. In any case, the battle for the Bills' Week 1 starting assignment at quarterback remains ongoing, but at this stage it does seem clear that Cassel and Taylor appear ahead of Manuel.

Taylor completed 5-of-8 passes for 49 yards, adding 47 yards on six carries, in Friday's preseason opener against the Panthers.
Though he didn't account for a touchdown himself, Taylor led the second-team offense to 14 points on three drives. Matt Cassel and E.J. Manuel also played pretty well, but Taylor's performance was the one that stood out. While this doesn't necessarily mean he's leaped ahead of Cassel, it can't be a bad sign for Taylor that Rex Ryan already named him the starter for next week's preseason game, Chris Brown of Buffalobills.com reports.

Bills head coach Rex Ryan said Taylor will be the second quarterback to enter Friday's preseason opener against the Panthers, ESPN.com reports.
Matt Cassel has been getting most of the first-team reps at practice and will unsurprisingly get the starting nod Friday night. The veteran has emerged as the favorite to start Week 1, but Taylor and E.J. Manuel are still competing for the job. It probably doesn't mean much that Taylor will enter Friday's game before Manuel, as all three quarterbacks will get their chances this preseason.
Tue May 19 201510:22Taylor continues to get reps with first unit during offseason wo...
Taylor continues to get reps with the first unit during offseason work, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said coach Rex Ryan, "Three guys for sure will be getting shots with the ones. We've been doing it each day. Let's say the first offense is running out there and it's Matt Cassel the first day, then it's EJ, then it's Tyrod. All three are getting opportunities to lead and to be with that first group ... Tyrod is getting as many shots with the ones as the other two."
Taylor still seems like the clear No. 3 in this race, but stranger things have happened than a new coach latching on to an outside candidate he gets hooked on. Manuel and Cassel aren't exactly the next coming of the Manning brothers, so the situation is at least worth keeping an eye on. That said, the Bills seem like a strong enough team elsewhere that they'll probably go with a more obviously choice or Manuel or Cassel. Stay tuned, however,
