Smith is listed as the Raiders' No. 1 tight end on the team's posted unofficial depth chart.
Smith's calling card is his blocking ability, so while he has a chance to see his share of snaps in the Oakland offense, Mychal Rivera -- who is listed after Smith on the team's depth chart -- and rookie Clive Walford both possess more fantasy upside, given their pass-catching skills.

Smith will sign as a free agent with the Raiders on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Scheffer reports.
Smith is a fine blocking tight end but he was rarely involved in the passing game with the Bills - just 20 receptions in his 56 games with the team - and that won't change in Oakland, either.

Smith who has yet to play this season due to a toe injury, was able to practice Thursday for a second straight day.
Smith is irrelevant for fantasy purposes as his best skill lies in his blocking ability, but it looks like he's going to play this week and we'll see if his presence muddles up the playing time for Scott Chandler and Chris Gragg at all.

Smith (foot) did not participate in Friday's practice.
Smith has missed several practices this week, and Friday's absence surely doesn't bode well for his chances of playing Sunday. Scott Chandler remains the No. 1 tight end in Buffalo, but if Smith doesn't suit up, look for No. 3 man Chris Gragg to see additional snaps.

Smith (foot) is not practicing Wednesday after missing Monday's practice as well, Joe Buscaglia of WGR Radio reports.
The Bills head into Sunday's opener against the Bears in good health, with Smith the only player not practicing Wednesday. If he can't play this week, tight end Chris Gragg will likely be asked to take on a little more responsibility, though Scott Chandler is the clear-cut No. 1 on this team.

The Bills will probably be choosing two among a foursome of Smith, Tony Moeaki, Chris Gragg, and Dominique Jones for two TE spots behind Scott Chandler. With Moeaki also out hurt, the team will have some extra guesswork to put into the decision.
