Thu Sep 10 201510:24Dareus signed six-year
Dareus signed a six-year, $108 million extension with the Bills on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The deal makes Dareus one of the highest-paid players in the league with his contract falling just short of the six years and $114 million Ndamukong Suh received from Miami this offseason. Dareus is coming off of a season in which he recorded 48 combined tackles, a forced fumble and a career-best 10.0 sacks.

Dareus (suspension) will not play Saturday due to a sore leg, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
Dareus will be replaced by Corbin Bryant on the line for Buffalo's preseason game Saturday. More information on the severity of Dareus' injury should be made available in the coming days.
Fri Aug 21 201516:31Dareus unhappy with Bills' latest offer to keep him
Dareus, who is entering the last season of his current contract, is unhappy with the Bills' latest offer to keep him, The Buffalo News reports. "We're still waiting," Dareus said following Thursday's preseason win. "I feel like they don't want me here as bad as I want to be here, as bad as the fans and my team wants me here. I feel like they're saying, Whatever. You come a dime a dozen."
These type of feelings usually die down pretty quickly assuming the two sides can work something out, and we doubt they'll have an effect on him either way should they linger well into the season. For now, Dareus enters the season healthy as part of one of the league's most formidable defensive lines, though remember he'll be sitting out the opener vs. Indy due a league-imposed one-game suspension.

Dareus has been suspended for the Bills' season opener for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, wivb.com reports.
While Dareus -- who recorded 49 tackles and 10 sacks in 15 games last season -- can participate in the team's offseason program and preseason action, the Pro Bowler won't be eligible to suit up for Week 1, putting him on track to make his regular season debut on Sept. 20 against the Patriots.
Tue Apr 7 201512:49Marcell Dareus: Could Be Facing Punishment from League
Despite reaching a plea agreement to have misdemeanor charges dropped, Dareus may receive punishment from the NFL for a June 2014 incident in which he was originally accused of racing teammate Jerry Hughes, ESPN.com reports.
Dareus plead guilty to a pair of traffic violations, and he promised to host a free football camp over the summer. While this doesn't seem like something that would typically warrant a suspension from the league, Dareus was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana just four weeks before he crashed his car. He agreed to enter the NFL's substance abuse program and wasn't suspended, but he did spend two weeks away from the team during minicamp. Things went much better for the former No. 3 overall draft pick once the season began, as he notched 48 tackles and 10 sacks, further establishing himself as one of the NFL's top interior pass rushers. Dareus is heading into the final season of his rookie contract, and the Bills will likely try to get him signed before Week 1.
Tue Jan 13 201519:16Dareus cleared to play in Pro Bowl
Dareus, who missed the Week 17 win over New England, has been cleared to play in the Pro Bowl, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Dareus will play in his second straight Pro Bowl after logging a career-high 10 sacks this season. The bigger news is that we now know he should be fine for next season, though we'll be keeping an eye on how the Bills set things up defensively next season, as Rex Ryan typically runs an entirely different scheme from the departed Jim Schwartz.
Sat Dec 27 201417:59Dareus (knee) downgraded to out for Sunday's game in New England
Dareus (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game in New England, according to Joe Buscaglia of WGR550.com.
While the Bills have won just one time in their last 22 games against the Patriots and would probably enjoy beating them on the road, there's no use risking Dareus' health in a game that means very little to either team. The defensive tackle will finish the season with 48 tackles and 10 sacks, numbers good enough to get him into the Pro Bowl.

Dareus (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots, ESPN.com reports.
With the Bills out of playoff contention, there's no compelling reason push Dareus this week, with the team likely to roll with a rotation of Corbin Bryant and Stefan Charles in his place on Sunday.
Wed Dec 24 201416:10Dareus (knee) did not practice Wednesday
Dareus (knee) did not practice Wednesday, the Bills' official site reports.
When asked whether Dareus -- who has notched 10 sacks in 15 games to date -- would be able to play Sunday against the Patriots, coach Doug Marrone suggested that the Bills remain in wait-and-see mode. "We'll just keep progressing with it through the week," Marrone indicated Wednesday. "I think it'll go all the way to the end (of the week)."

Dareus left Sunday's game against the Raiders with a knee injury in in the second quarter, ESPN.com reports.
With Dareus sidelined, the Bills turned to Stefan Charles and Corbin Bryant to work at defensive tackle along with Kyle Williams on Sunday.
Sun Dec 7 201414:46Dareus (hip) listed as active for Sunday's game against Denver
Dareus (hip) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Denver.
Dareus who checks in with 40 tackles and 10 sacks in 12 games to date is out there if you need him Sunday, though over his last three games, the defensive tackle has been held to six tackles and no sacks.

Dareus (hip) is listed as probable for Sunday's game in Denver after practicing on a limited basis for the third straight day Friday.
The Bills are out-talented by the Broncos in most areas, but their defensive line may be the best in the NFL and one way to get the upset would be to knock Peyton Manning off his game. That's never easy in Denver, but at least the Bills will have their ferocious front four of Dareus, Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, and Jerry Hughes mostly healthy and definitely hungry as they try to stay in the playoff hunt.
Thu Dec 4 201418:19Dareus limited in practice Wednesday due to hip injury
Dareus was limited in practice Wednesday due to a hip injury.
We imagine he's going to play Sunday in Denver given he's been able to practice to some degree the last two days. Dareus, who has 10.0 sacks on the season, will be looking for his first sack since Week 9, which won't be easy considering the quick-triggered Peyton Manning helms the opponent.
Tue Dec 2 201421:18Darius posted three tackles in Buffalo's win over Cleveland on S...
Darius posted three tackles in Buffalo's win over Cleveland on Sunday, but failed to record a sack for the third straight week.
Dareus has come down to Earth a bit following a period where he was posting otherworldly numbers for a defensive tackle, at one point logging 8.0 sacks over a five-week period. He's actually still playing well and remains healthy, but the Buffalo defensive line is so strong that opponents just have to pick their poison and then one or two of the four members always posts a big week. It seems lately teams are finally using more of that attention on Dareus, as Mario Williams and Jerry Hughes have put up some big stats during the last three weeks. Things could easily shift back to Dareus' favor, and on the season his 40 tackles and 10.0 sacks remain excellent numbers for an interior lineman.
Wed Oct 15 201412:36Dareus missed Wednesday's practice due to excused absence
Dareus missed Wednesday's practice due to an excused absence.
Probably nothing to worry about here, as Dareus has some off-field issues and the Bills are trying to work with him there (though perhaps this absence is due to something else), and so far the results have been great. Through six games, the defensive tackle has 22 stops and five sacks, while the team is pretty much thrilled in what he's doing to plug the interior each week.

Dareus had a monster game in Sunday's upset over the Lions, picking up a career-high 3.0 sacks, five total tackles, and a forced fumble.
As we reported earlier, the coaching staff is pleased with Dareus' attitude this season following a summer of off-field troubles and some run-ins with the coaching staff last season. The hard work we're hearing about seems to be paying off as well, as he now has five sacks and 19 tackles over five games, excellent numbers for an interior lineman.
Thu Oct 2 201401:40Coach Doug Marrone pleased with Dareus' attitude and work ethic ...
Coach Doug Marrone is pleased with Dareus' attitude and work ethic so far this season following a period of offseason troubles and benchings in late 2013, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said Marrone, "He's been to work. We've had zero issues. He's worked hard in the weight room. He's worked hard on the practice field. Not one issue with anything. From that standpoint I'm proud of that. He's doing what he should do to be a pro. That's what you should do in this league and that's what's expected of you."
Dareus still might have a suspension coming, but that might not really be in play until next season. His tackles are down from last season (14 so far), but he missed part of a game with injury and has added two sacks and a pass defensed. Over the last two weeks, Dareus has put up nine total tackles and two sacks.

Dareus has been given credit for a sack in a scoring change stemming from Sunday's loss to San Diego, BuffaloBills.com reports.
That gives the interior lineman 10 tackles and a sack through three games, right around last season's pace. Dareus is seeing action on 68 percent of the team's defensive snaps.
Wed Sep 3 201416:34Neither Dareus nor team informed of any potential suspension yet...
Neither Dareus nor the team has been informed of any potential suspension yet after the defensive tackle had a couple of big offseason legal troubles.
That's not to say Dareus won't get suspended, just that it's unlikely the league would now do that to the Bills just days ahead of the regular season. What we've been seeing recently is the league letting the legal process first play out, then issuing a suspension even if that doesn't come until next season. This is what happened with Dareus' teammate Nigel Bradham, who will miss this week's game following a 2013 incident.
Wed Aug 6 201418:07Dareus suffered hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice
Dareus suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
Dareus' status for Friday's second preseason game is now in question, while the team still hasn't heard anything about a possible suspension from the league stemming from his off-the-field troubles.
