With tight end Eric Ebron out with a knee injury, Moore saw an uptick in production during Week 5 and could be primed for a repeat performance if Ebron is held out again Week 6 given the Lions' dependency on passing the ball.

Lost in Greg Salas' breakout performance in the Lions' preseason opener and the solid showings of Jeremy Ross and Ryan Broyles in the second game has been Moore. Moore caught just two passes for 19 years in the Lions' first preseason game and missed the second to attend the birth of his first child, but his presence on the team could be invaluable. Moore is very familiar with offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's offense as they both spent several years in New Orleans. In fact, Moore has become a coach on the field, helping fellow receivers with the intricacies of the offense. Those leadership abilities, along with savvy route running, could become a major factor once Detroit's front office begins deciding which receivers to keep and which to cast off.

Moore signed a one-year deal with the Lions on Tuesday, MLive.com's Kyle Meinke reports.

Moore will likely have to compete for a roster spot, after catching just 14-of-27 targets for the Steelers in 2014. He'll turn 32 in August, but he does have the Lions' lack of depth at his position working in his favor.

Trailing 21-3 forced Pittsburgh to throw the ball, with Moore being targeted six times, all in the second half of the game. The fact that he had just the one catch, albeit a touchdown, was disappointing and should serve as a reminder to fantasy owners that he has no business being in their lineup.
