Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Brett Myers will sit out the 2014 season but is not retired.
Myers plans to look for a deal next offseason. The veteran right-hander held an 8.02 ERA over four appearances for the Indians last season before being diagnosed with a partially torn UCL and eventually released. He didn't have surgery, so he's going to be a major health question in 2015.

Myers could be cleared to make a rehab start this weekend if he wakes up Wednesday with no abnormal discomfort. The right-hander has been on the disabled list since April 21 with a mild tear of the UCL in his elbow. The Indians could ask him to make multiple rehab starts.
