Blue played with the Bulls in the Las Vegas Summer League. He averaged 7.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 0.7 steals in 28 minutes per game through six games.

Last season, Blue spent most of his time in the D-League, where he averaged 23.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.1 blocks, and 1.9 steals in 37 minutes per game through 49 games. Blue played in two games with the Lakers last season when they desperately needed bodies, averaging 11 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in 37 minutes per game. Most likely, Blue will return to the D-League and provide spot appearances in the NBA. However, it is possible that due to his D-League production a team could be interested in signing him.

Blue did not receive a qualifying offer from the Lakers, making him an unrestricted free agent, NBA.com reports.

Blue was signed by the Lakers for the last week of the regular season because they had so many injuries that they simply needed enough live bodies to play an NBA game. Seriously. With that said, at 22 years old, he remains an interesting 6-4 guard who could someday find his way into a consistent role in an NBA rotation.

Blue, who played just two games in 2014-15, ended his season on a relative high, averaging 11.0 points, 1.0 three-pointers, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in 37 minutes per game. He shot 30 percent from the field on 15.0 attempts, 40 percent from the line on 2.5 attempts and 20 percent from three-point range on 5.0 attempts.

Blue has played just five games in his NBA career, and the large minutes and usage of 23 percent came due to the Lakers having all of their regular backcourt options sidelined for the season's conclusion. The former Marquette guard may sign some more 10-day contracts next season, but he should be out of the fantasy realm's collective consciousness come draft time.

Blue will get the start Wednesday in place of Jordan Clarkson (ankle).

With Clarkson sidelined due to a sprained ankle, Blue will move into the starting lineup for the depleted Lakers. He's appeared in only one game for the team since being signed, Monday's loss to Sacramento, and he scored seven points in 26 minutes. Blue should see a heavy minutes load Wednesday.

Blue spent a 10-day stint with the Celtics last season, but after failing to stick in Boston, the combo guard rebounded with a tremendous D-League campaign this season. To that point, Blue averaged 23.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists for the Los Angeles D-Fenders, which surely caught the attention of the nearby Lakers. With just a couple games left, Blue will be provided the opportunity to play alongside fellow call-up Jabari Brown on the Lakers, as he looks toward earning a roster spot somewhere next season.

Blue made three appearances with the Celtics, averaging 1.7 points in 5.0 minutes per game. With Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless both healthy, there's no longer room in the rotation.

Blue is primarily around to give the injury-plagued Celtics backcourt depth while Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless get healthy. "Vander is a tough kid," Coach Brad Stevens said. "He's a guy that's a competitor." The Celtics may like the depth and toughness that Blue brings, but he won't bring a lot of value to any fantasy rosters in the limited minutes he's likely to see.

With Jerryd Bayless (toe) and Avery Bradley (ankle) both hurting, and Rajon Rondo not likely to play in back-to-back games, the Celtics are quite literally out of guards. Blue could actually see decent minutes tomorrow night, and the fact Bradley couldn't return to tonight's game, and the signing of Blue, suggest that Bradley could be sidelined for some time.

Vander Blue, who went undrafted out of Marquette, has signed with the Israeli team Maccabi Rishon LeZion.

He worked out with the 76ers this preseason and had a few eye-opening games during Summer League, but wasn't able to crack the regular season roster.

Vander Blue, Khalif Wyatt and Mac Koshwal were waived by the Sixers.

Blue had a decent summer league, but couldn't string together anything in the NBA this month. All three guys are highly unlikely to make another NBA team. The Sixers have a roster at 16 after this move and the release of Royce White.
