Tue Jul 21 201513:38Rice played with Magic White squad in Orlando Summer League
Rice played with the Magic White squad in the Orlando Summer League. He averaged 6.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 17 minutes per game through three games.
Rice, who spent most of the 2014-15 season in the D-League, was released by the Wizards in January. He averaged 12.7 points, 1.0 three-pointers, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 23 minutes per game through 14 games in the D-League. Should he continue to develop, it is possible that an NBA team will sign him later this season.
Wed Jan 7 201513:48Rice released by Wizards on Wednesday
Rice was released by the Wizards on Wednesday, J. Michael of CSN reports.
Washington will cut ties with the 2013 second-round pick, who appeared in just five games this season. Coming off of a rookie season in which he showed flashes of potential in the D-League, Rice was expected to step into a greater role this season. However, he fell out of favor with coach Randy Wittman and was unable to work his way back into the rotation, due in part to respective emergences of Otto Porter and Rasual Butler. Rice figures to draw considerable interest as a free agent on the open market.
Fri Nov 21 201409:49Rice assigned to Fort Wayne Mad Ants of D-League
Rice has been assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League.
Rice has only seen limited minutes on the court for the Wizards this season but will be given all the minutes he can handle down in the D-League. The 23-year-old will likely rejoin the Wizards at some point in the season, although it would be hard to imagine him seeing significant time on the court at this point in his career.
Tue Nov 18 201415:59Rice has not played any minutes since Nov
Rice has not played any minutes since Nov. 7 against the Raptors.
Rice got off to a terrible start in his first five games, averaging 2.2 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists over 8.6 minutes, with just three of his 15 field-goal attempts finding the mark. He hasn't played in a game since that fifth appearance, as Rasual Butler has replaced Rice in the rotation. Rice could perhaps get another chance to enter the mix, but with Brad Beal (wrist) moving closer to a return, Rice has seemingly already missed out on his best opportunity of the season.

Rice had zero points (0-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 15 minutes in Tuesday's 98-83 win over the Knicks.
Rice's preseason was limited by a sprained ankle, and with Garrett Temple handling most of the minutes at shooting guard, there isn't a whole lot left. Otto Porter is quite clearly the Wizards' top wing off the bench, and he has handled the job well. That leaves Rice with a lesser bench role, one that may disappear once Brad Beal (wrist) and/or Martell Webster (back) return(s).

Rice saw his first minutes of the season Thursday against the Magic after spraining his ankle in the preseason, scoring five points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT).
Head coach Randy Wittman elected to not use Rice in the season opener Wednesday, but used him for 14 minutes against the Magic. It was a back-to-back for the Wizards this week, so it's no surprise that Rice was used to give Otto Porter, Garrett Temple and Paul Pierce a break. Temple seems to be the favorite to start at shooting guard with Bradley Beal out, though, playing over 30 minutes in each of the first two games for the Wizards.

Rice (ankle) ended up getting a DNP on Wednesday.
Wizards coach Randy Wittman elected not to use Rice in the opener, but Garrett Temple failed to make a big impact as the starting shooting guard, so Rice could be in the lineup Thursday against the Magic.

Rice (ankle) is expected to be ready for Wednesday's opener against Miami.
Coach Randy Wittman said Tuesday that, barring a setback, both Rice and Kris Humphries (finger) will be available Wednesday. Rice should carve out a significant role early in the season with Bradley Beal (wrist) expected to miss at least a few more weeks.

Rice (ankle) was a full participant in Monday's practice, and hopes to be ready for Wednesday's season opener.
Consider him questionable for Wednesday's game, although as soon as he is ready, he could see a solid role at shooting guard with Bradley Beal (wrist) out 3-5 weeks.
Fri Oct 24 201410:12Rice (ankle) missed Wizards' final three preseason games
Rice (ankle) missed the Wizards' final three preseason games.
Rice seems to be in danger of missing Wednesday's regular-season opener against Miami, and the Wizards play again both Thursday and Saturday. Bradley Beal's broken wrist created an opportunity for Rice to earn a spot in the early-season starting lineup, which may now be filled by Garrett Temple. Otto Porter also figures to benefit from added playing time, though he will have a key role in the rotation even if Rice is healthy. Things could start to get rather crowded once Beal and Martell Webster (back) eventually return from injuries, which likely won't happen until December or January.
Mon Oct 20 201418:33Rice (ankle) will not play Monday against Pelicans
Rice (ankle) will not play Monday against the Pelicans.
Rice sprained his ankle last week and is still hampered by the injury. He's likely being held out as a precaution, and whether or not he plays Wednesday against New York will be a better indication of how healthy he is with the regular season set to begin next week.
Thu Oct 16 201415:30Rice arrived at Thursday's practice without walking boot
Rice, who sprained his ankle during Wednesday's preseason game against Maccabi Haifa, arrived at Thursday's practice without a walking boot, CSN Washington's J. Michael reports.
According to CSN Washington's J. Michael, Rice used crutches in the locker room after Wednesday's game, then left the Verizon Center in a walking boot. The second-year wing still hasn't undergone an MRI, but he is apparently bothered by significant swelling. With Brad Beal (fractured wrist) already out for at least the first 3-4 weeks of the regular season, Rice is likely headed for a key role in the Washington rotation, and may even challenge for a starting spot. The other leading candidates for added playing time in Beal's absence are Garrett Temple and Otto Porter, as Martell Webster (back) is also expected to miss at least the first few weeks of the season.

Rice will not return to Wednesday's game after suffering a sprained right ankle, the Wizards official website reports.
Rice left the game after playing 11 minutes as a starter for the Wizards. The injury is supposedly just a sprain, so it shouldn't be too serious, but we'll have to wait for an update after the game in order to get any further details on the situation. Depending on the severity, it's highly possible he won't play in the Wizards next preseason game Friday.

Rice had 18 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three assists, two steals and a block over 21 minutes in Monday's preseason opener against the Bulls.
After averaging 25.0 points in six games at the Las Vegas Summer League, Rice is hoping to lock down a key role in the Washington rotation. With Martell Webster (knee) likely to miss at least the first few weeks of the season, Rice is the leading candidate to work as Brad Beal's top backup at shooting guard. Rice could also earn some minutes as a small forward, though the Wizards are probably hoping that Paul Pierce and Otto Porter will hand most of those. Given that Pierce and Beal are locked in as starters, Rice will primarily be competing with Porter for minutes, at least until Webster returns. Rice got off to the far better start this preseason, as Porter went just 1-of-10 from the field Monday night.
Sun Jul 20 201422:23Glen Rice Jr.'s 24 pts not enough for Wizards
Glen Rice Jr. scored a game-high 24 points before being named the Summer League MVP on Sunday, adding nine rebounds, two assists and six steals in a losing effort.
Rice Jr. has been a step ahead of the competition throughout Summer League, averaging 25.2 points on 50.7 percent shooting prior to Sunday's outburst. He was also shooting 44.4 percent from downtown and warrants attention as a potential 3-point specialist while Martell Webster (back) is out of commission. The Wizards' offense sputtered and they finished with only 62 points on 35.2 percent shooting, including an abysmal 3-of-29 mark from downtown.

Sun Jul 20 201400:19Glen Rice Jr. beats buzzer, scores 36 in win
Glen Rice Jr. hit a 3-pointer to send Saturday's win over the Spurs to triple-overtime, finishing with 36 points, 11 boards, three assists, four steals and six 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
He set a summer-league high in scoring and also moved back into the top spot for points per game in summer league. Rice could get some minutes with the Wizards due to the Martell Webster back injury and he is a possible target in very deep fantasy leagues.

Thu Feb 27 201411:05Glen Rice Jr. reassigned to D-League
Glen Rice Jr. has been reassigned to the Iowa Energy of the D-League.
Rice averaged 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds with the Energy back in January, so this move should help the 23-year-old get some valuable minutes with the Wizards' D-League affiliate. After his three games with the Energy earlier this month, Rice didn't see any minutes with the Wizards so it goes without saying that fantasy owners shouldn't have him on their radar for the 2013-14 season.

Thu Jan 16 201415:42Glen Rice Jr. (wrist) cleared for shooting
Glen Rice Jr. (wrist surgery) has been cleared to shoot and is getting closer to participating in full-contact practices.
Rice Jr. was given a 3-6 week timetable after surgery in Dec. 18, and it sounds as though he's recovering on schedule. The Wizards' second-round draft pick is shooting under 30 percent from the field in 11 NBA appearances.

Glen Rice Jr. (wrist surgery) no longer has a splint on his right shooting wrist.
Rice had surgery two weeks ago but he was seen taking shots during Tuesday's practice, which is a positive sign. The Wizards have no timetable for his return.
