Archie Goodwin and the Brooklyn Nets have agreed on a multi-year contract after the guard signed a pair of 10-day deals with the team in mid to late March, the team announced Tuesday.Goodwin, 22, first joined the Nets on a 10-day contract on March 15 and signed a second one on March 25. He is averaging 6.6 points on 57.1 percent shooting, 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 12.4 minutes per game over seven games with Brooklyn.The former Kentucky standout is in his fourth NBA season, also playing for the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans. Goodwin has career averages of 6.2 points, two rebounds and 1.2 assists over 160 games from 2013 to present.Goodwin was originally a first-round pick (29th overall) of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2013 NBA Draft, but his rights were traded to the Golden State Warriors and then the Phoenix Suns.He spent three seasons with Phoenix and was released before the start of this season. Goodwin signed with the Pelicans on Nov. 7 of last year and played three games with New Orleans before he was waived.

He spent one year at the University of Kentucky, earning SEC All-Freshman team honors.

Goodwin averaged 15.9 points (47% FG, 31% 3Pt, 76% FT), 2.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 27 minutes per game through seven Summer League games.

Goodwin was a crucial contributor on a Summer League team that made it to the championship. Once the regular season starts, though, he may have difficulty finding minutes on a Suns team with a crowded backcourt. Consider Goodwin a deep league stash pick, in case Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight become injured.

Goodwin averaged 5.6 points (39% FG, 29% 3Pt, 74% FT), 0.3 three-pointers, 1.1 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.4 steals in 13 minutes per game for 41 regular season games in 2014-15.

Similar to his rookie season, Goodwin bounced back and forth between the Suns roster and the D-League affiliate team in Bakersfield throughout his sophomore campaign. His minutes went up in April, though, due to team injuries and the Suns falling out of playoff contention. The 20-year-old guard needs to find more minutes in order to warrant more serious fantasy consideration for 2015-16. If Brandon Knight departs this offseason, then Goodwin could earn a more stable role on the team, so owners should keep track of the Suns' offseason moves.

Goodwin will start against the Spurs on Sunday, The Arizona Republic reports.

The Suns are without multiple players due to injury and so Goodwin will get the rare start Sunday. As a result, he has an opportunity to topple his current season-high of 26 minutes played in any one game.

Goodwin came off the bench for 13 minutes during Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves. He finished with one point, two rebounds, and three assists.

With Brandon Knight (ankle) out of the lineup Wednesday, Goodwin was still not given much time on the court. This is a terrible sign for his value moving forward as it looks like coach Jeff Hornacek will favor veteran Marcus Thornton in times where the reserve players have to fill in for injured starters.

Goodwin figures to see increased minutes Wednesday in the absence of Brandon Knight (ankle), Matt Petersen of Suns.com reports.

Knight has been ruled out for Wednesday's game, and there is a chance he could miss additional contests. While the Suns brought in Seth Curry from the D-League, Goodwin is expected to get first crack at the backup point guard minutes. The Kentucky product has played fewer than 10 minutes in five of his last six appearances.

Goodwin came off the bench again Saturday scoring 12 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt), adding in one rebound and one assist in 17 minutes.

Goodwin put together another solid game for the Suns on Saturday even with Brandon Knight making his debut. As Knight will likely move into the starting lineup at some point, Goodwin will combat Gerald Green for minutes off the bench. Keep an eye on Goodwin to see if he can build off his promising last two games.

Goodwin scored 12 points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT) with three rebounds and four assists in 21 minutes in the loss to Minnesota on Friday.

Goodwin played his season high in minutes with all of the incoming Phoenix players not yet with the team. The former Kentucky Wildcat has been shuttling between the Suns and the D-league. He will return to the bench once Brandon Knight joins the team.

Goodwin was assigned to Bakersfield of the NBA's D-League on Saturday, the Arizona Republic reports.

After logging time in 52 games with the Suns in 2013-14, Goodwin has appeared in only 14 tilts this season. Meanwhile, in eight appearances for the Jam, the second-year guard has averaged 21.1 points (on 45 percent shooting), 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.4 three-pointers, and 1.3 assists in 32 minutes.

Goodwin came off the bench for two minutes against Portland on Thursday.

Goodwin has spent time in the D-League and will likely see another stint in Bakersfield in due time. This obviously means that he's a bit player with Phoenix who sees limited action and is better left on the waiver in standard formats.

Goodwin was recalled by the Suns on Sunday, The Arizona Republic reports.

Goodwin has played in just 13 games for the Suns this season as a limited option in the backcourt. Over those 13 games, he's averaging just 7.4 minutes on the court which hardly leaves any time for production.

Goodwin was reassigned to Bakersfield of the D-League on Thursday, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Goodwin will return to Bakersfield for the third time this season. He's appeared in only 13 games for the Suns, seeing most of his minutes in garbage time.

Goodwin scored 12 points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), to go along with six rebounds, two assists, and one block in 9 minutes on Sunday.

Goodwin really made his minutes count as he was able to contribute across the board in only nine minutes on Sunday. His athleticism makes him a guy that catches a lot of people's attention, however the fact that he's locked on a team with a heavy guard rotation means an injury would have to occur for any doors to open for him. In the meantime, we can enjoy moments like his impressive dunk over Jonas Valanciunas.

Goodwin was recalled from the D-League on Wednesday, Paul Coro of azcentral.com reports.

Goodwin spent three games with the Bakersfield Jam but will rejoin the team in Oklahoma City. The second-year guard has seen time in only 10 games this season and has not played in the last eight contests.

Goodwin was assigned to Bakersfield of the D-League on Thursday.

Goodwin has played just once since Dec. 2, so the Suns decided to send him to Bakersfield to give him a chance to see some minutes.

Goodwin has played in just six games this season while averaging 7.3 minutes on the court in those contests.

Goodwin is buried on the depth chart behind Eric Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas, and Goran Dragic this season. Even if one of these three players were to succumb to injury, Goodwin would still likely be limited of the bench. As a result, Goodwin is only a viable option in the deepest of leagues.

Goodwin had his 2015-16 option picked up by the Suns on Monday, NBA.com reports.

In his rookie campaign last season, Goodwin was used sparingly, averaging 3.7 points (on 46 percent shooting) and 1.7 rebounds in 10.3 minutes across 52 appearances. His D-League line at Bakersfield was predictably robust -- 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, two three-pointers, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 assists in 35 minutes -- but a similar journey appears likely to repeat itself in 2014-15.

For the second year in a row, it looks like Goodwin is going to have a tough time getting run. Last year, Gerald Green came out of nowhere and now Isaiah Thomas pushes Goodwin down even further.

Suns guard Archie Goodwin was arrested earlier this month for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The 19-year-old was seen by a police officer "exhibiting aggressive gestures" toward another person, and tried to break away once he was taken into custody. He has a court date on June 3 and the legal side of this incident should be settled well before training camp, but it's possible that he'll face a season-opening suspension.
