Sappelt appeared in 31 games for the Cubs in 2013, slashing .269/.280/.549 with no homers, four RBI and three stolen bases in 75 at-bats. The 26-year-old is a decent defender, so he'll be usable in a pinch if Philly's outfield is wrecked by injuries in 2014.

The 26-year-old appeared in 31 games for the Cubs in 2013, slashing .269/.280/.549 with no homers, four RBI and three stolen bases in 75 at-bats. His value is primarily derived from his defensive ability, which makes him a reserve outfielder at best and a non-factor in fantasy leagues.

Dave Sappelt went 4-for-5 with two RBI against the White Sox on Monday.
With Scott Hairston gone and David DeJesus and Ryan Sweeney on the DL, someone has to play the outfield for the Cubs. Sappelt should be in there against lefties until the team gets healthier, and he could stick around afterwards if he gets hot. Of course, he had been just 9-for-50 this season entering the night.
