Gerhart rushed just once and gained two yards in Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He failed to haul in his only target.
The 28-year-old received just one touch for the second week in a row and has netted zero total yards in that time. Starter T.J. Yeldon suffered a groin injury Sunday, however, so Gerhart's workload could temporarily expand if the former misses game action. It has become clear though, that Gerhart is an afterthought whenever the Jags' backfield is at full health.

Garhart had one carry for minus-2 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
Gerhart has been a non-factor thus far in 2015, sitting out the season's first two games and carrying just four times for eight total yards in Weeks 3 and 4. He's firmly planted behind starter T.J. Yeldon, who carried 22 times for 105 yards Sunday, and could see an even smaller role once Denard Robinson (knee) returns to active status.

Gerhart was held to 10 rushing yards on three carries in Sunday's loss to New England.
Gerhart made his 2015 debut after struggling with an abdominal injury to start the season. The results weren't pretty. Coming into last season, Gerhart was supposed to be the power back in Jacksonville, but has 336 yards and 3.2 yards per carry in 15 games. Expect him to spend most of his time on the sideline with T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson carrying the load.

Gerhart (abdomen) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
With Denard Robinson inactive for Sunday's game, Gerhart and Bernard Pierce are in line slot in as the Jags' reserve running backs behind starter T.J. Yeldon in Week 3.

Gerhart (abdomen) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, John Oehser of jaguars.com reports.
Gerhart is set to make his season debut after sitting out the first two games of the season. Fellow running back Denard Robinson (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, so Gerhart and Bernard Pierce figure to slot in as the reserve running backs behind starter T.J. Yeldon.
Thu Sep 24 201513:47Gerhart (abdomen) practiced in full capacity Thursday
Gerhart (abdomen) practiced in full capacity Thursday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
After being limited at Wednesday's session, Gerhart ramped up his activity Thursday, marking his first full practice since the regular season began. Gerhart is yet to play through the first two weeks, but he appears poised to make his debut as the Jags travel to New England on Sunday. With Denard Robinson (knee) likely to sit out, Gerhart will battle Bernard Pierce for carries behind entrenched starter T.J. Yeldon.
Wed Sep 23 201517:04Gerhart (abdomen) limited participant at Wednesday's practice
Gerhart (abdomen) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
An abdominal injury has sidelined Gerhart for the first two weeks of the season, and if he's not able to increase his activity level over the next two days, he could be headed for a third straight inactive designation. Jacksonville's No. 2 running back, Denard Robinson, did not practice Wednesday due to a knee issue, so if he and Gerhart are both ultimately held out, veteran Bernard Pierce would take over as the backup to T.J. Yeldon.
Sun Sep 20 201515:00Gerhart (abdomen) inactive for Sunday's game against Dolphins
Gerhart (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
With T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson on the Jaguars' RB depth chart, Gerhart's fantasy utility is currently capped at this stage, in any case.

Gerhart (abdomen) is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Miami, Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart has not practiced this week, and as of Thursday afternoon it appears he's headed for his second straight absence to begin the season. Assuming Gerhart is held out, T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson should again handle the bulk of the backfield workload.
Thu Sep 17 201517:04Gerhart (abdomen) did not practice Thursday
Gerhart (abdomen) did not practice Thursday.
Gerhart thus looks iffy for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, though the presence of T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson on the Jaguars' RB depth chart currently caps his fantasy upside in any case.
Wed Sep 16 201516:26Gerhart (abdomen) did not practice Wednesday
Gerhart (abdomen) did not practice Wednesday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
Gerhart continues to deal with the abdominal strain that kept him on the sidelines during the Jaguars' Week 1 loss to Carolina. If he's not able to return to the practice field by Thursday, it seems unlikely that he'll be cleared to play against Miami on Sunday. Even so, Gerhart projects as Jacksonville's No. 3 back behind T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson, so his fantasy utility is quite low.
Sun Sep 13 201511:48Gerhart (abdomen) inactive for Sunday's game against Panthers
Gerhart (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
In any case, Gerhart's fantasy ceiling is capped at this stage by the health and presence of T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson, both of whom are ahead of him on the Jaguars' posted depth chart.

Gerhart (abdomen) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Oehser of Jaguars.com.
Gerhart has been slowed by an abdominal strain the last couple weeks, and his status for Week 1 will not be determined until sometime this weekend. Gerhart slots in as the third running back option on the Jaguars' roster, so even if he is able to go Sunday, don't expect much from him in terms of fantasy production.
Thu Sep 10 201514:03Gerhart (abdomen) limited at practice Thursday
Gerhart (abdomen) was limited at practice Thursday.
We'll revisit Gerhart's Week 1 status on Friday, but with T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson ahead of him on the Jaguars' posted depth chart, a wait-and-see approach is in order with regard to Gerhart's early-season fantasy prospects.
Wed Sep 9 201520:23Gerhart (abdomen) limited at practice Wednesday
Gerhart (abdomen) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Gerhart said Monday that he expected to play Sunday against the Panthers, but his fantasy reliability at this stage is hampered by the presence of T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson, both of whom precede him on the Jaguars' posted depth chart.

Gerhart won't suit up for Friday's preseason game against the Lions due to an abdominal strain, Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. Head coach Gus Bradley said, "He needs time this week and then next week we'll see how it goes but he should be ready for Week 1."
Gerhart has missed practice this week as a result of the ailment, which may spur the Jaguars to exercise caution and hold him out of the preseason finale next Thursday as well. With 2015 second-rounder T.J Yeldon sitting out the first two exhibitions, Gerhart recorded nine carries for 28 yards and three receptions for 35 yards. In the rookie's debut, Yeldon should receive uninhibited reps with Gerhart out of the picture.

Gerhart feels the offensive system implemented by new offensive coordinator Greg Olson isOl better suited for his running style, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Olson stresses inside-the-tackle running, which Gerhart feels is his strength. Last season, Gerhart's first in the organization, the focus of offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch was largely on outside zone runs.

Gerhart rushed for 13 yards on four carries and had two catches (two targets) for 30 yards in Friday night's preseason opener against the Steelers.
Gerhart, who was brought to Jacksonville last season to be the team's lead back, but is no longer considered the starter. He pushed the pile forward a couple of times Friday and had a 19-yard catch on a screen pass. If he can make plays in the passing game, Gerhart could carve out a role for himself behind T.J. Yeldon and/or Denard Robinson.
Thu Jun 25 201517:15Gerhart projects to open season as Jaguars' 2nd running back
Gerhart projects to open the season as the Jaguars' No. 2 running back, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart struggled through an injury-plagued first season in Jacksonville, and he'll return in Year 2 as the projected backup to rookie T.J. Yeldon. Nothing is set in stone at this point, of course, but it appears Gerhart is unlikely to see a workload that justifies significant fantasy value.
