Weatherspoon is listed as inactive Sunday at Detroit, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Weatherspoon (hamstring) made his Cardinals debut Thursday at Denver, accruing three solo tackles.
According to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix, Weatherspoon took 17 snaps on defense and three on special teams in his first NFL appearance since Dec. 15, 2013, as last season was wiped away due to a ruptured Achilles suffered in June of 2014. Since joining the Cardinals in March, he had assumed defensive play-calling duties by the conclusion of the offseason program, but his initial preseason appearance was delayed due to a hamstring injury and subsequent aggravation. Expect Weatherspoon's snap count to increase as his conditioning improves in the coming weeks.
Tue Sep 1 201519:11Weatherspoon (hamstring) practiced fully Tuesday
Weatherspoon (hamstring) practiced fully Tuesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
After returning to drills Monday, Weatherspoon has quickly fit in an unhindered practice, forecasting an appearance in Thursday's preseason game at Denver. With a steady showing, he would likely provide head coach Bruce Arians with enough confidence to use Weatherspoon at inside linebacker next to Kevin Minter in the regular season opener.

Weatherspoon (hamstring) was a limited participant at Monday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Making his long-awaited return to drills, Weatherspoon wouldn't commit to suiting up for the final preseason game Thursday at Denver, stating, "I feel I have time to be ready." An appearance would likely go a long way in appeasing the mind of head coach Bruce Arians, but Weatherspoon isn't incorrect with nearly two weeks remaining before the Cardinals open the regular season on Sept. 13 against the Saints. If Weatherspoon is unable to do so, Kevin Minter and Kenny Demens would likely hold down the two spots at inside linebacker.

Weatherspoon (hamstring) isn't expected to suit up Sunday at Oakland, the Arizona Republic reports.
Weatherspoon's continued absence due to a hamstring injury is threatening his status as a starting inside linebacker, as head coach Bruce Arians intimated, "I need to see a lot, haven't seen anything yet." According to the Cardinals' official site, Weatherspoon won't return to practice until the end of this week at the earliest, which supports the expected DNP this weekend. If he doesn't make a full recovery by Week 1, Kevin Minter and Kenny Demens will likely be the Cardinals' starting ILB duo.

Head coach Bruce Arians is hopeful that Weatherspoon (hamstring) can return to practice next week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Weatherspoon was tabbed with making the defensive play calls early during the offseason program, but a hamstring injury has ailed him since the outset of training camp. His return would provide a welcome relief at inside linebacker, which only one other player, safety Deone Bucannon, mans effectively in the mind of Arians. Meanwhile, depending on when Weatherspoon returns, he could achieve active status for the third preseason game on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Oakland.

Weatherspoon (hamstring), who was limited in practice Tuesday, suffered a setback after the hamstring grabbed and he could miss an additional week, the Cardinals' official site reports.
An unfortunate turn of events for Weatherspoon, whose health looked to be on the upswing heading into Tuesday's practice before the setback occurred. The team won't rush their three-down linebacker back onto the field before he's ready, but Weatherspoon remains anxious to fully participate, "I want to practice and be out there with my guys, get that timing down with them. The main thing is, I'm on a one-year deal so I have to be healthy before I get out there. That's what it's all about," he said regarding the injury situation. It's unclear how much time he'll miss, but coach Bruce Arians speculated it could be around a week.
Mon Aug 10 201517:28Weatherspoon (hamstring) expected to return to practice Tuesday
Weatherspoon (hamstring) is expected to return to practice Tuesday, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
Weatherspoon's participation Tuesday could be contingent upon his ability to complete "light" running drills Monday. No matter, the Cardinals' expected defensive signal caller should return to the fold in the near future.

Weatherspoon (hamstring) remains day-to-day due to a hamstring injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Weatherspoon sustained the ailment in the latter stages of Saturday's practice, after which head coach Bruce Arians relayed his belief that it wasn't serious, and the linebacker sat out all drills Sunday. There was hope that Weatherspoon would return Monday for the first practice in full pads, but that didn't materialize, as intimated by his day-to-day status. No matter, expect him to handle his duties as defensive signal caller in the near future.

Weatherspoon left Saturday's practice with a hamstring injury, the Cardinals' official site reports
Weatherspoon viewed the final 30 minutes of drills from the sideline but was able to walk to the locker room under his own power. Considering his laundry list of injuries, it's worrisome that an injury has already befallen the Cardinals' expected defensive signal caller for the upcoming season. No matter, coach Bruce Arians is expected clarify the severity of the ailment following Sunday morning's walkthrough.

Weatherspoon made all the defensive calls during the Cardinals' first OTA on Tuesday, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Weatherspoon's injury-laden career culminated in a torn Achilles last June, which erased the entire 2014 campaign, but shortly after signing a one-year contract with the Cardinals in March, he relayed that the most recent ailment was "completely healed." In the previous two offseasons, Cardinals general manager Steve Keim inked Karlos Dansby and Antonio Cromartie to such prove-it deals, which they were able to parlay into significant paydays after productive seasons. Only 27 years old and a 2010 first-round pick, Weatherspoon's background indicates that his best years could be in front of him, if he avoids the injury bug.

Weatherspoon said that his Achilles is "completely healed" during Wednesday's introductory news conference with the Cardinals, Darren Urban of the team's official website reports.
During a recent evaluation with the doctor who performed his Achilles surgery, Weatherspoon was given the all clear from the ruptured tendon that wiped out his 2014 season, his fifth and final with the Falcons. Injuries have hindered him throughout his career, but he does have a 113-tackle campaign to his name during his sole complete campaign in 2011. As a Cardinal, he offers enough versatility to help out at both inside and outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme.
Mon Mar 9 201511:31Weatherspoon slated to sign one-year
Weatherspoon is slated to sign a one-year, four million dollar contract with the Cardinals on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Weatherspoon missed the entire 2014 campaign after tearing his Achilles last June, which followed a number of maladies during the 2013 season. Nonetheless, the 2010 first-round pick has proven plenty talented when healthy and the Cardinals have shown few reservations about signing formerly injury-prone players in years past. In Weatherspoon's only full NFL season back in 2011, he registered an excellent 115 tackles and four sacks, which offers nice upside for the Cardinals linebacking corp heading into next season.
Mon Jun 16 201417:18Falcons place Sean Weatherspoon on I.R.
Falcons placed LB Sean Weatherspoon on injured reserve with a torn Achilles' tendon, ending his season.
Weatherspoon ruptured the Achilles' during an early-June OTA practice. The loss is massive for an Atlanta defense that was already hanging by a thread, and will now turn to some combination of Joplo Bartu and rookie Prince Shembo next to Paul Worrilow at inside linebacker. Weatherspoon turns 27 this December. He'll hit 2015 agency in rehab, and as a significant injury risk.

Tue Jun 10 201420:24Weatherspoon tears Achilles', done for 2014
Falcons WLB Sean Weatherspoon suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon on Tuesday, and is out for the season.
Weatherspoon suffered the injury as he rehabbed the knee ailment that hobbled him in 2013. He'll undergo surgery in the "near future." It's a crippling blow for a defense that was ravaged by injury and a lack of depth last season. GM Thomas Dimitroff added only band aids in the draft and free agency. The Falcons have no good options to replace their starting weak-side linebacker, who has missed 16 combined games over the past two seasons. Fourth-rounder Prince Shembo could be forced into heavy snaps. Going into the final year of his rookie contract, Weatherspoon will now enter free agency as an injury-prone 27 year old. The Falcons are going to be in weekly shootouts, much like the Jason Garrett-era Cowboys.

Sun May 18 201412:15Falcons WLB Weatherspoon out until camp
Falcons WLB Sean Weatherspoon (knee) will be sidelined until training camp.
Weatherspoon missed the final two games of last season with a knee issue. He didn't need offseason surgery, but the Falcons are going to take it easy with him. Just last month, Weatherspoon said he was at 80 percent. Once healthy, Weatherspoon could be asked to play inside 'backer if the Falcons switch to the 3-4.

Wed Apr 23 201412:20Sean Weatherspoon still rehabbing knee
Falcons WLB Sean Weatherspoon is still rehabbing a knee injury.
Weatherspoon appeared in just seven games last season, starting the year on injured reserve with a designation to return and ending it by sitting out the last two weeks with a knee issue. The good news is he didn't need surgery. Weatherspoon should be fine to run with the starters on the weak side by training camp.

Sun Dec 29 201311:45Sean Weatherspoon inactive for ATL again
Sean Weatherspoon (knee) and Jacquizz Rodgers (concussion) are inactive for Sunday's Week 17 finale against the Panthers.
Weatherspoon's disappointing fourth NFL season ends with just 38 tackles in seven games played as he battled both foot and knee woes. The rest of Atlanta's inactives: S Sean Baker, DT Adam Replogle, OT Terren Jones, G Garrett Reynolds and OT Sean Locklear.
