Wed Apr 22 201517:28McClendon has signed one-year deal with Dolphins
McClendon has signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, the Miami Herald reports.
McClendon, who started the first two games with the Jaguars last season, can play both center and guard. This gives the Dolphins added depth and competition, as McClendon will likely be competing with Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner, J.D. Walton, and newly-signed Jeff Linkenbach for snaps on the team's offensive line this season.
Sat Jun 7 201413:44McClendon competing with Linder at RG
Journeyman OT Jacques McClendon is competing with third-round rookie OT Brandon Linder for the starting right guard position.
Coach Gus Bradley said the competition would not be decided until camp, but it would be surprising if Linder does not open the season as the starting right guard. McClendon has not made a meaningful impact since being drafted by the Colts in the fourth-round in 2010, and Linder has the experience to start right away with 42 college starts to his name. Despite the small chance McClendon opens the season as the starter, this competition is a good sign for his roster chances this season.

A surprise pick so early, McClendon wasn't invited to the Senior Bowl or Combine after a nondescript, 26-start career at Tennessee. The Colts, hoping to get bigger along both lines, appear to envision McClendon as a project with mauling upside at 6'3/324. He'll probably be inactive as a rookie.

Colts selected Tennessee OG Jacques McClendon with the No. 129 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
We researched 13 former Vols extensively while preparing for the draft, and this wasn't one of them. McClendon, a non-Combine invitee, was considered one of the strongest players on Tennessee's roster during his stay in Knoxville, starting for two years at offensive guard. At 6-foot-3 and 324 pounds, McClendon adds girth to a Colts line that could use some.
