Tate caught just 8-of-18 targets for 74 yards in Sunday's 42-17 loss to Arizona. He also lost a fumble.
Tate saw most of his targets in the second half when backup QB Dan Orlovsky entered the game for an ineffective Matthew Stafford, who threw three interceptions. He's not making many big plays, with just three receptions of 20+ yards on the season, although the entire Lions' offense is struggling. He'll try to bust out next week against Chicago.

Tate collected three receptions on four targets for 29 yards in Monday's loss to Seattle.
After leading the Lions in targets, receptions and receiving yards in 2014, Tate has fallen off a bit through the first quarter of 2015. Fantasy owners could have predicted that he would trail Calvin Johnson in most statistical categories, but the fact that he is behind running back Theo Riddick in receptions 20 to 18 and has just five more receiving yards than the third-down back is a bit disconcerting, as is his failure to score a touchdown thus far this season.
Mon Sep 28 201501:26Tate caught five passes for 57 yards on seven targets in Sunday'...
Tate caught five passes for 57 yards on seven targets in Sunday's 24-12 loss to the Broncos.
Tate was reasonably efficient with his opportunities, but he only accounted for 16 percent of his team's targets. With Calvin Johnson healthy and the Detroit offense struggling, Tate is averaging five catches for 54 yards on eight targets through three weeks.
Sun Sep 20 201522:08Tate nabbed six receptions off of 10 targets for 80 yards
Tate nabbed six receptions off of 10 targets for 80 yards.
Tate ranks second among Lions receivers with 10 receptions, 104 receiving yards and 18 targets. Tate thrived while Calvin Johnson was hobbled last season and may still see enough opportunities with a healthy Megatron in 2015 as the Lions have dropped back on 73 percent of their plays thus far this season.
Sun Sep 20 201512:05Tate (quadriceps) active for Sunday's game against Vikings
Tate (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Tate was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but the Lions may just have rested him for the purpose of preserving him for Sunday's game while he remains slightly dinged up. The wideout was a disappointment in the Week 1 loss to the Chargers with only four receptions for 24 yards, but his eight targets in the contest suggest he'll remain an integral part of the Lions' attack moving forward.
Fri Sep 18 201516:47Tate (quad) probable for Sunday's game in Minnesota
Tate (quad) is probable for Sunday's game in Minnesota.
Tate didn't practice Wednesday and was limited both Thursday and Friday, but there hasn't been any indication that his injury is serious. Although the matchup with Minnesota's defensive backfield isn't an easy one, Tate and Calvin Johnson should find more room to work with, after the Chargers' excellent secondary shut them down in Week 1.
Thu Sep 17 201517:16Golden Tate: (Quad) Limited Thursday
Tate (quadriceps) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
An upgrade from Wednesday's no-show at practice is a step in the right direction, but the Lions will ultimately clear up Tate's potential availability Sunday at Minnesota upon the release of Friday's injury report. Even though his Week 1 line left owners wanting more -- four catches for 24 yards -- his eight targets was one shy of his average from last season, when he broke out as an upper tier fantasy wide receiver.
Wed Sep 16 201519:48Golden Tate: (Quad) No Practice Wednesday
Tate (quadriceps) didn't practice Wednesday, the Lions' official site reports.
In Sunday's opener, Matt Stafford wasn't shy about getting all the skill position players involved, which capped Tate at four catches (on a team-high eight targets) for 24 yards. Kicking off the week of preparation with an absence isn't an encouraging sign, and while the team didn't state the severity of the injury, Tate's practice participation should continue to be monitored with a watchful eye as the weekend approaches.

Tate caught four passes off of eight targets for 24 yards in the Lions 33-28 loss to the Chargers.
The Chargers were successful in bottling Tate up on Sunday, preventing him from taking the top off the defense or turning a short catch into a big gain. If there was a silver lining for fantasy owners it was that his eight targets doubled Calvin Johnson's. Though the ball distribution may have been more about circumstance or a single game plan than a coming trend, it should be a welcome surprise that he may have games this season where he is the focal point of the passing attack even with a healthy Megatron.
Fri Aug 21 201500:11Tate finished with two catches (on two targets) for 21 yards in ...
Tate finished with two catches (on two targets) for 21 yards in Thursday's preseason game against Washington.
Tate hooked up with starting quarterback Matthew Stafford for a 19-yard passing play on the Lions' opening drive, displaying the partnership's continued cohesion. While top wideout Calvin Johnson hasn't played in the preseason, Tate been impressive in limited action and represents one of the league's best No. 2 receivers as he approaches this season.

Tate caught two passes for 57 yards and a TD in Thursday's preseason opener against the Jets.
Tate and starting quarterback Matthew Stafford only played one series Thursday, but the duo looked sharp, with Mlive.com noting that Tate's brief but strong effort in the contest included him "doing big damage after the catch." Tate remains entrenched as a starter in Detroit's' potentially explosive offense this season, opposite star wideout Calvin Johnson.
Sun Jan 4 201522:26Tate caught 6-of-9 targets for 89 yards and touchdown in Sunday'...
Tate caught 6-of-9 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Cowboys.
Tate took an intermediate pass for a 51-yard touchdown on the Lions' first drive, but he then produced modest numbers for the rest of the game. While undoubtedly one of the top acquisitions last offseason, Tate may have trouble repeating his 99-1,331-4 receiving line, as his production spiked in games that Calvin Johnson missed. Of course, the 29-year-old Johnson has dealt with more than his fair share of nagging injuries over the last few years, so it's entirely possible the same thing could happen in 2015. Tate will turn 27 in August, and he's missed just one game over the last four seasons.
Sun Dec 28 201421:58Tate had three catches on five targets for 45 yards in Sunday's ...
Tate had three catches on five targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 30-20 loss at Green Bay.
Tate actually led Detroit in receiving yards, but Calvin Johnson was the one that scored, catching a pair of touchdowns. Since Johnson has gotten healthier from his previous ankle injury, Tate hasn't produced as much, failing to to go over 100 yards in seven straight games, while recording just one touchdown during that span. He's still been fairly productive during that period though, catching 33 passes, so he's not a terrible option for those still participating in playoff leagues. If you are considering him for the playoffs, note that he'll face the Cowboys in Dallas this weekend.
Sun Dec 21 201419:50Tate had six catches on 10 targets for 62 yards during Sunday's ...
Tate had six catches on 10 targets for 62 yards during Sunday's 20-14 win over the Bears.
Tate has now failed to reach the 100-yard mark for six consecutive games, and he's got only one touchdown over that span. He remains the No. 2 wideout option behind Calvin Johnson, and while he gets plenty of balls thrown his way, depending on receiving yards alone isn't enough for most fantasy owners. Up next is a Week 17 matchup against the Packers at Lambeau Field, with the winner taking home the NFC North crown. Tate had five catches on seven targets for 51 yards against Green Bay in Week 3.
Sun Dec 14 201422:09Tate caught 7-of-7 targets for 38 yards and touchdown in Sunday'...
Tate caught 7-of-7 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Vikings. He also had two rushes for five yards.
Tate didn't do much on a per-play basis, but performed well in PPR formats, while scoring Detroit's lone touchdown. He'll look to continue his strong season next week at Chicago, which has been awful against the pass lately.
Sun Dec 7 201416:59Tate targeted five times in Sunday's 34-17 win over Buccaneers, ...
Tate was targeted five times in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Buccaneers, finishing with four catches for 50 yards.
The Lions' passing attack is back to being the Calvin Johnson Show, and Tate was a bit of an afterthought for Matthew Stafford. The five targets were Tate's second-lowest number of the season, but he has shown over the last month that he can still be a big contributor even when Johnson is healthy, so there's a good chance Tate will be more involved next week against the Vikings.
Thu Nov 27 201416:13Tate caught eight passes on 10 targets for 89 yards in Thursday'...
Tate caught eight passes on 10 targets for 89 yards in Thursday's 34-17 win over the Bears.
Teammate Calvin Johnson recorded 11 catches for 146 yards and two TDs in the game, but there was still enough targets to go around Thursday for Tate to put up a solid stat line, particularly in PPR formats. With Johnson healthy again, Tate's upside is capped some, but he's still a candidate to see his share of looks down the stretch, having seen 21 targets over his last two outings.
Sun Nov 23 201417:05Tate (hip) targeted 11 times in Sunday's 34-9 loss to Patriots, ...
Tate (hip) was targeted 11 times in Sunday's 34-9 loss to the Patriots, finishing with four receptions for 97 yards.
After alarmingly receiving just two targets in last week's loss to Arizona, Tate's 11 looks led the team this Sunday. The fact that he managed to be productive despite the continuing offensive struggles for Detroit (no touchdowns in the last eight quarters) is an encouraging sign, and the Lions' soft upcoming schedule should give Tate plenty of opportunities to be successful. Detroit's next three games, all at home, come against teams ranked in the bottom half of the league in points allowed to opposing wide receivers (Bears, Buccaneers, Vikings).
Sun Nov 23 201411:42Tate (hip) listed as active for Sunday's game against New Englan...
Tate (hip) is listed as active for Sunday's game against New England.
Tate is out there if you need him this week, though it's unclear which cornerback he'll see more of Sunday -- Brandon Browner or Darrelle Revis -- with Patriots' plans to try to contain fellow wideout Calvin Johnson uncertain until the game gets going.
Fri Nov 21 201416:41Tate (hip) probable for Sunday's game against New England
Tate (hip) is probable for Sunday's game against New England.
Tate wasn't listed on the injury report prior to Friday, when he showed up as a limited practice participant. It's not clear whether Tate tweaked the hip during practice Friday or if he has some irritation going into Friday and the Lions decided to rest him a bit. It is in any case a minor issue, as evidenced by his probable designation.
