Joseph was outrighted to Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday, Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Joseph was taken off the 40-man roster after he was roughed up for nine earned runs in his first 7.1 innings at New Orleans. He'll stick with the Marlins as organizational relief pitching depth.

Traded from the Royals to the Marlins for cash in late June, Joseph was DFA'd on Thursday following Miami's trade with the Astros. The Marlins acquired versatile infielder/outfielder Enrique Hernandez and starting pitcher Jarred Cosart, both of whom will be part of the 25-man roster. Joseph has an electric left arm, but his inability to throw strikes remains a problem. He owns a ridiculous 35:28 K:BB over 33 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
