Tue Aug 21 201216:18Eduardo Najera retires after 12 NBA seasons
Eduardo Najera, a 12-year NBA veteran, announced his retirement on Tuesday.
Najera's playing days are over, but he'll immediately transition into a new role as the head coach and part owner of the Texas Legends in the D-League. The gritty forward finished his career with averages of 4.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and the admiration of virtually everyone he ever played for, with, or against.

Thu Aug 9 201209:37Report: Eduardo Najera considering retirement
Updating a previous item, Eduardo Najera is reportedly considering retirement, according to Peter Vecsey of the New York Post.
We're taking this with a grain of salt considering it was just reported late on Wednesday night that Najera was fully healthy and had been drawing interest as an unrestricted free agent, but it wouldn't be too surprising if he walked away from the game. Najera, 36, averaged 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22 games for the Bobcats last year.

Wed Aug 8 201223:47Najera fully recovered from forehead injury
Eduardo Najera is fully recovered from a fractured frontal bone in his forehead, and the Nets, Rockets, and Wolves are interested in his services according to Yahoo! Sports' Mark Spears.
We wouldn't be surprised to see a team pick him up, and likewise we wouldn't be surprised if this was an agent-side report trying to drum up interest. Najera is about as beat up as anybody in the association and has no fantasy value.

Eduardo Najera (head injury) was able to fly back to Charlotte with his teammates, but he will not play on Saturday.
Najera has a fractured 'frontal bone' and could be out a while, but it's fantastic news that he didn't suffer any brain trauma. There are few classier veterans in the league today.

Najera may get some run down the stretch, but the youth movement needs to happen in Charlotte immediately, and Najera is not young.

Mon Mar 26 201200:43Eduardo Najera out another week

This saves us from having to mention him before every Bobcats game, which is nice since he's not a relevant fantasy player.

Sun Mar 25 201210:44Eduardo Najera still out w/ inflamed knee
Eduardo Najera (inflamed right knee) missed his second straight game on Saturday.
The Bobcats are in a sorry state and Najera's hard-nosed veteran presence couldn't hurt, but he's not worth fantasy owners' attention.

Thu Mar 22 201213:35Eduardo Najera 'definitely' out for Friday
Eduardo Najera (knee) is "definitely" out for Friday against the Bucks.
Najera has had on and off knee issues all season long. Najera played just five minutes in his last game and we're marking him day-to-day for the time being. He is not a fantasy asset in any league.

Eduardo Najera (knee) returned to action on Thursday, scoring four points on 2-of-4 shooting with three rebounds and two steals in 16 minutes off the bench.
Najera is old, broken-down, and playing on a team that will lean toward playing their youth. He's waiver wire fodder.

Wed Mar 14 201213:44Eduardo Najera game-time decision Wednesday
Eduardo Najera (knee), who didn't play on Monday, is a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Najera had picked up some playing time with Boris Diaw in the doghouse, but his age has caught up with him and his knee is flaring up once again. If Najera can't play, Diaw will likely be activated, but it remains to be seen if he actually gets into the game.

Mon Mar 12 201213:13Eduardo Najera likely out Monday
Eduardo Najera (knee) is not expected to play in Monday's game against the Hornets.
Najera had been seeing real burn since Boris Diaw's deactivation and now his 35-year-old body is paying for it in the form of a sore knee. The Bobcats could activate Diaw, but the more likely scenario is using Tyrus Thomas and D.J. White at power forward again.

Sun Jan 22 201220:40Najera solid in 18 minutes off Bobcats' bench
Eduardo Najera played 18 minutes in his second game of the season, scoring six points (two 3s) and grabbing four rebounds.
It's important to note that D.J. White was out with a knee injury, but Najera is a tough veteran with 3-point range and Paul Silas may very well use him 15-20 minutes off the bench.

Fri Dec 16 201112:31E. Najera has knee surgery, out 6-8 weeks
Eduardo Najera (knee surgery) will be sidelined 6-8 weeks.
Obviously, Najera won't be ready for the start of the season. It's one less big man for a Bobcats team that doesn't have many of them, and it's another blow after Charlotte just lost Reggie Williams for the same time frame. Tyrus Thomas and Boris Diaw have big roles coming their way.

Mon Apr 4 201114:56Najera likely done for the season
Coach Paul Silas said he doubts Eduardo Najera (back) will play the rest of the season.
Najera made 31 appearances for the Bobcats this season, recording 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 12 minutes per game.

Sun Apr 3 201111:38Najera (back) sidelined on Sunday
Eduardo Najera won't play on Sunday due to a back injury.
It sounds like he has back spasms or tightness -- either way, his absence leaves Charlotte's frontcourt absurdly dependent upon Kwame Brown, Boris Diaw...and D.J. White.

Mon Mar 28 201122:54Najera (shoulder) returns to action on Monday
Eduardo Najera (shoulder) returned to action on Monday, scoring no points on two shot attempts with one assist in 12 minutes off the bench.
If there was a competition for least valuable fantasy player, he would be in the running.
